Any downside to CT headers?

Yes, I have already done a search and heard all the glowing reports on the headers. But, I need to know of there is anything which you do not like i.e. noise, resonance, interior heat, whatever...

Thanks,
David

It rains here all the time.. to damn much as matter of fact..

With the header the car is a bit more torqier.. peels out a lot more often now.. but that is a good thing for me.

The only drawback is cost compared to the OBX. Is the little extra quality worth twice the price? If it is, get the CTs. No problems with them at all. The OBX have lil things happening. Not all too bad when you consider they are 1/2 the price. But hey you pay to play.

He has a 6 speed, so OBX is out of the picture.

And the little extra problems with obx... like noise issues or rust

None of these complaints with comptech.

If you keep the car, there isn't a drawback. No extra noise, and I put them on AFTER I had good tires and wheels.

However, if you only decide to sell the car, you'll be lucky to get 1/2 the retail money (if that) (my opinion)

True, you got to know that this is the case with nearly every mod you make on your car though.

Same with a home, you pay $40,000 to remodel a kitchen you may see $20,000 back at time of sale. Your paying for your own personal enjoyment in such things.

That's only cuz you live in Sacto....$40k into a house in the bay = $100k return on your investment...

Strange you should mention that...

My friends that moved from Venice, CA, did a $20K kitchen + $12K patio remodel after not getting any kind of "reasonable" offer some years back and after doing the work, got a whole lot more than they put in.

There are also some old Muscle cars that got "authorized upgrades"/"options" (Yenco, etc) are worth $$$$

Some cheap-o high offset low-rider wheels on a new Rolls isn't going to increase its market value...

Why not just re-install the stock headers before you sell it? It would only cost $100-$150 to have the stock ones put back on. Not too much if you consider the look you get at the dealership when you give them the list of mods on the car. Or better yet, sell it privately to someone who will love the mods that you have done.

The 50% (1/2) I was speaking of was pretty much a "rough" amount that took into consideration the:

#1 way: Price of used headers - labor

#2 way: Someone who actually wants the stuff (and there are rare exceptions where someone will PAY more than 50% for a top-quality CARB approved item.

It can be a wash either way, and I'm sure you can find stories that can show that changing +/- 10-15% one way or the other.

Any mods are for my own use and enjoyment. The money is gone once the mod goes on. If I get anything back great. If not, oh well, it is all about having fun (at least in this case).

The downside is you will have LESS money in the bank or a higher credit card balance with a higher gasoline bill !

Yup, you are definitely in a hot spot with much to do. Man does that back yard fishing sound nice. I don't regret leaving either, I live in downtown and I gotta tell ya, I'm finding more and more to do around here than I did in SJ. Its just great living man, great opportunities too.

They won't void the warranty. Or at least it would have to be proved that such headers caused the failure. As we all know there are plenty of STOCK CL-S that have had bad transmissions.
But you have a Six speed Big, Speed away!!!
