Any CL not TypeS owner out there?

I am just wondering... Am i the ONLY CL non TypeS owner in this place? Man, now I feel really left out and stuff... hehe, cuz everyone able to say I spank whatever ass... All I can do is read what yall say! Well I bought CL is because.. well not my decision, but my parents.. haha, they said they would rather save more money and no matter what I said... cuz we got the car for $25,X00 and its some direct hook up stuff.... Oh well... But anyway, too late to complain.. haha, but I guess I am the only CL guy without TypeS in here huh?

Hehe, somehow I wonder is my THAT bad after all? Please say something nice(or fake if you want) to smooth me out... hehe... but really what are the stats for a CL? Is it gonna be same as TL? Sigh! I HATE THOSE 16" Si RIMS! Haha

I have a 98 3.0 so if you have the '01 CL-P then you are still doing better then me!

Ditto. Except I'll be upgrading to a Type S in May/June. As far as the stats, you could probably check Acura's website. I think stock versus stock (CL-P / CL-S), the CL-S would pull on you a pretty considerable amount. It has 35 more HP and more torque. Plus, if you come up on one with just headers installed, the HP is up around 280-290. I don't think you should feel "bad" about your car, it's still a sweet ride with one of the highest HP ratings in it's class!!

Naw.... there are plenty of CL-P owners here (AHEM.... SATIN.... where are you??? )

The CL-P is only a few tenths of a second slower than a CL-S. Relax guy... you got a great ride! But I agree... those rims HAVE GOT TO GO! Ugh... I hate them.

Right here Shweethart!

So, you got Type-S envy? Yeah, we're a bit slower (Gold's right....bout 0.5 secs) and lean a bit more. Problem is, it's not night and day. Most of the cars the Type-S runs with....so can we. That's how good the CL is.

When I bought mine in June the savings was close to 3,500. I liked the interior a bit better (in Ebony, anyway) and figured some smart Mods and Borbet's could change everything. It did.

Save some cash and get the Mods that all these guys are getting. Headers, springs, sways, & intake. Bottom line.....you still saved 2,500.00 and can run with Stock Type-S's. Just don't go up against a Type-S with all the fixin's.

Yea, somehow I agree about the CL-P and CL-S DO have difference, but not like "God DaMn, I cant even see the tailight type"... With CL-S they can pretty much run against 85-90% of the Japanese car.. But CL-P, I would say 65-70%....

hehe, as long as I can show those Civic Si guys that I have a bigger 16" Si rims than their 15", I am happy enuff... oh also my oval dual tip... hehe...

BTW, those rims and tires are going to be paper weight and coffee tables pretty soon!

Edward.

anybody know the 0-60 time for the CL-P?
maybe a couple tenths behind CL-S?
like a 6.9 or so if the CL-S ran a 6.5?
or is that difference too much?

Yeah, I also own a CL-P. Although there are times that I regretted not getting the CL-S, I feel that the CL-P is more than adequate for my needs. I still wish that they would make the white metallic guages an option for CL-P. Maybe my next car will be a CL-S or a TL-S. Either way, the CL is an awesome car!

I am also among the CL-P buyers. I do not regret my decision at all. I don't need the performance of the S, don't want to pay double for replacing tires, liked the brown wood in the P, didn't really like the metallic gauges, and figured I was just asking for trouble buying the S with the added power. My car can still dust a lot of the cars around my college, it's still an ACURA with all the luxury, and the girls don't know the difference between the two. I am perfectly happy with my stock CL-P, although I would like to lint the windows slightly. Plus, the $3k difference between the two cars will be able to buy some pretty kick butt home theater equipment.

the insurance quote i got from state farm was the killer, was more than twice of what it is now on the CL-P.

that was a big factor

My quote from state farm mutual was $427 every 6mo. for the CL-P, and only $464 every 6mo. for the CL-S. Seems funny your quote was so much more.

Hmm.... now I wonder... with CAI, Header, Exhasut, and Pulleys.... how fast would it run? I barely see stats of CL-P, plus CL-P with stuff....
