Compression, in turn, has been reduced from 10.6:1 on the MINI Cooper to 8.3:1 on the MINI Cooper S. Bore and stroke are exactly the same as on the MINI Cooper.

Wasn't there a Cooper S long before Acura?

 

It's ok that they call it the S. Now if they call it the Type S, (type S is an acura Trademark) Acura can sue BMW for all there worth. S itselft can not be trademarked because it is not a full name just one letter. They also have a corola S and the S type jaguar (close to the type S Acura Name). Hope this helps .

Yeah, but the red "S" emblem really resembles Acura's trademark for the type S....couldn't they use another font or colour combination?

 

who cares if it's like Acura's "S"....that car(t) is going to rock...it will handle like a slot car and it's going to actually have the power to keep up!
