Another TL review, not a expert

I kept an open mind. So i went to the dealer since my dads RL needed to get serviced. So i looked at the new TL, liked it alot by the looks. The front looks much better in person than in pics. The had the old TL next to it and the new one looks 10000 times better. IMO

So i sat in it and played, lots of nice toys but i really cant picture me using half of them daily. So my salesman that i have known for awhile comes and asks if i want to drive it. So of course i have time to kill and said yes. So i took it out for a spin. Handling improved and the steering was much more percise than my 2002. But I still think a TL-S with sways and springs handle better. The new TL should be a nice drive with aftermarket sways. Car felt nice..... untill i got on it. WHAT THE CRAP IS WITH THE STEER TORQUE!?! Its worse than my modded TLS. I just didnt get it. Also, the car doesnt FEEL that fast, maybe the car needed to break in but who knows. Maybe its soo comfy that you cant tell how fast the car is? Also can someone please tell acura to give their cars LOW END torque. Its lacking, big time.

The Stereo didnt impress me. They played this dvd Demo for me and i really didnt like the imaging in the car. Its still one of the best STOCK stereos that i have heard, but nothing wonderful.
The materials they used was great, everything felt great to the touch and i loved the layout. Only thing i didnt like is the tiny area to read the temp and radio channel... etc... but im sure you can have it displayed on the navi screen. (my salesman didnt know how) Of coursse i loved the blue lights all over, very pimpish.

The car doors felt too thin and didnt feel soild.... i dont think this car was that much improved in terms of fit and finish from the 2002 model.

Was I impressed? Yes i was.
would i want to drive this car? Sure.
Would i want to own one? Maybe if i was over 40.

Oh and they had a decked out TL in the showroom. It had bodyki, rims and spoiler. Summer tires on it as well. sticker was 37k
The salesman said they give you another set of rims for free to use during winter months, which is nice.

How did the "fit and finish" compare to your Audi A4?

See my def of fit and finish is different than others. To me its how the car feels as a whole.

My audi feels very soild and they didnt cheap out on anything, like the feel of the doors shutting. Everything closes quietly in the A4.
The TL didnt.

Even though my A4 is slow, its still more rewarding to drive than the TL was. I was shocked at that as well.

The thing that made it feel really more luxurious to me than the old one was the leather completely covering the door armrests. It's the little things like that that they didnt' overlook that made it much nicer to me. I guess Acura did their homework with nitpickers. Lose 2 of the doors and I'll take one today.
