Another strange noise. While the topic is hot...

Does anyone hear the AC in there car. Complete silence in my car, then I turn the AC to 70, or 75, & I hear this fluttering sound. Sounds like some moving part in the AC system. It's not the compressor cycling, it's a constant sound. Only happens with the AC on. I started to hear it in June.

I guess no one else has this noise in the car? Does that mean I should have the dealer look at it?

my ac isnt exactly whisper silent either... it does make a bit of cluttering/fluttering type of sound. So far its not loud enough for me to worry too much about

you might have leaves in the intake for the a/c, that would explain a fluttering sound

This is a shot in the dark, but open your hood and check for leaves.

I agree. Leaves are the most likely culpirt. I had a similar problem; it ended when I was sitting in traffic with the a/c on full . A small leaf blew free from the vent, and then the noise stopped.

I remember reading somewhere, that someone had that problem in a different kind of car though... They torn the dash apart and found a BEER can....LOL... You talk about drinkin on the job...LOL..

Anyways, try pulling your interior air filters and see if there is some thing lodged or floating around in there?... anyone drop something down one of the A/C vents?.... could be a gum wrapper or something...

I have the same noise ! Ever since I started working from home, in other words I don't drive the car every day now, nor do I run the AC ! So, now I have the SAME noise you hear and I dread going to these horrible dealerships ! Keep me posted if you make it before me !

NO ! This makes a noise like a marble is loose in the middle console. I have a moisture smell as well at first when I turn it on AND NO, I don't have leaf's under MY hood ! I don't think my car leaves my garage but once a week ! I was told some time ago, that because I stopped driving DAILY, that the AC got some moisture in the system and ACURA wants to BLAME me for this shit !

Just a reminder to everyone about the posts I made about a month ago...

I had a constant whining noise from my A/C whenever the compressor would come on. Dealer came back and said my alternator was on the way out. They replaced the alternator and the noise is gone.

Whining and fluttering are two different things, I understand that.
