too bad no navi, if you bought the car for 500 and parted out the navi youd make money! other than that, i could def see a lot of it being parted out interior wise, but other than that, that thing is done.
I just saw this on my latest ebay search.
I actually considered buying it. I went so fas as to see the shipping costs door to door. Total cost would be around $1,500 IF the reserve wasn't more than $600. I doubt it though. I'm sure I could salvage many parts off of it and at least break even.
Might be a good buy if the reserve isn't too high.

Go snatch that spoiler off of it for me. I need it, badly. Please. Ask how much they'll sell it to you for, and I'll pay you for your effort.
definitely hope my CL never meets the grave that way...not sure if anyone's bidding on it from here, definitely not me though. If i could, i'd be buying smitty's supercharger/intercooler.
I think i'd have to choke someone if my CL ended up like that as well

Bidding ended at $2,075.00 and the reserve still wasn't met.
I bet you'd be hard pressed to get much more than that out of it in parts. The only way would be to sell every little nut and bolt on it it seperately. I mean down to things like a master cylinder, alternator, sunvisors (along with the rest of the interior piece by piece), engine, tranny (if you could find a buyer for maybe $150~$200), then again, maybe the tranny caused the accident?
You'd really have to have a shop to keep it in due to the broken glass and every time someone was looking for a part you could have easy access to it. That would be one hell of a project. Fun maybe, but probably not worth the time and effort even IF you could get your money out of it.
It's too bad. Looks like it was a nice car 2 seconds prior.

How much would any of you guys pay for a used, 2001 CL-S tranny with 99,000 miles on the clock? To have as a spare or if you needed a replacement immediately.
Please everyone, answer that question and be honest. I'm really curious to know the results of this.
Given the fact that a new one from honda cost about 4500.00 I beleive, correct me if i'm wrong on that, going from memory from a check a while back... and if this tranny works well, I'd say I'd pay about 500.00 tops because it's a time bomb. It could be one of those trannys that could last 200000 miles, who knows. If your warranty has expired and your tranny died, I'd say 500.00 tops, then put it in the car and sell it asap.
wonder what they are going to do with that car. I'd say it's worth 1800.00 tops.

I went to look at this car today. It is crushed and can only be used for spare parts. One wheel is destroyed, two are in near pristine condition and the other has a few typical road rash scars. Tires are about 20% used, stock Michelins.
The car starts and sounds perfect. Exhaust smells have no oil burn to it, has the stinky cat smell, very normal. Engine bay is dusty, but clean overall. The autotragic does not appear to have the recall work done to it. The tranny fluid is red and smells like good tranny oil with some mile on it.
The interior is very diry, will need some serious cleaning, no tears or abused look. Dash is perfect, everything inside the car is great, just needs cleaning.
The back of the car is another story, It is toast with sever undercarriage damage, both sides of car have numerous dents and the front is all but gone. HID ballast are missing as are the front two lights and bumper, hood is bent, and both front fenders as well.
He said he was going to re list it on ebay today. I ask him his bottom price, and he started off with 2800, then came down to 2500. I offered him 2g's, he declined, just as well, as it would be a break even with lots of work at that price. I was interested in it for the shell of the car, I'd like to find a cl preferably with the front slaughtered. Would be a fun car to make into a brackett car at the drags. more to come on that later.
Just thought some of you would be curious on this car, cheers!
