Okay I now ruled out a 02 maxima and I have 2 options for Cl-S's. the dealer has a 03 black with tan leather interior, with spoiler but no Nav for a decent price. I like it but I really liek the 01-02 type S rims better. The other option is a 01 type S that is Blue in color and black leather interior. it has 10k more miles and is a 01 not 03. Also it does not have a spiler which I do want but it has the rims and leather I like better.

Any suggestions?

 

if the 03 is a 6 spd then 03!!!...but normally 01-02 owners will want to change out the headlights and taillights to the 03 ones....so to save yourself some trouble..i'd go with the 03...and besides...aftermarket rims will look better...just my 2 cents

 

both are 5sp at's. I personalyl liek the look of the 01 one better but an 03 might be a little less hassle no? what is the difference in headlights between 01 and 03?

 

03 has blacked out headlights, no foglights, color matched grill surround, fully color matched front bumper, color matched door handles, color mathced mirrors (some 02s have this though) and the white/red taillights. They also have slightly different looking exhaust tips. Oh yeah, and the different wheels

Purely cosmetic stuff, no difference in performance though, well, unless its a 6 speed

 

I personally would not make a CL buying decision based on rims and spoilers. The CL automatic transmissions are somewhat trouble-prone and Acura extended the tranny warranty to 100k miles on most 01s and 02s, but unclear on which 03's.
I'd forget about rims and spoilers and get an 03 6 speed manual tranny, since you asked. I'm not an automatic tranny fan so I'm very biased.
If you go for an automatic make sure it has the 100k warranty, then choose the color, rims, spoiler, you like, good luck.
