Another Optima Yellow Top Bites the Dust
I've had my 51R for only 15 months. Went to start it up tonight and it first started to turn over fine. All of a sudden, it acts like a cell went bad. Now it won't accept a charge.
Gotta pull the blower this weekend to change the plugs anyways so I guess I get to do it all in one shot.

Odyssey is 1.5" wider which may be an issue. I'll have to see if I can modify the Comptech Battery tray to accomodate the 6-9/16" width. Mil Spec battery is definitely a plus. I'm also surprised the the Odyssey is 12lbs heavier.

I had to change out the Red Top of my 300ZX last month too. I think it only had 30 months.

Placed an order through West Coast Batteries. The guy convinced me to try this one:
http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc925lmj.htm
It should mount in with no major modifications to the battery tray and he's sending it with battery posts. He tells me that he runs one of these in his Ford Truck. Higher Cranking amps but lower CCA than the Optima 51R. He tells me that there are a lot of guys using this battery around his shop. My jaw dropped when he told me it was for a Harley Davidson

<--- Acura 51R battery. Going strong at 30K miles
and FYI you don't need to pull the blower to remove the battery. Remove the intake plumbing, disconnect the cables and bracket, then slide the battery out towards the firewall.

It's actually good timing for this to happen. Going to lift out the blower and do the plugs at the same time. Also picked up a Comptech strut bar that I need to install so perfect for getting those rear plugs out.
