Another NSX Brake Conversion Story
As the title suggests, I was able to use some of the knowledge on this site and a couple others to improve my crappy stock brake system.

I found a pretty good set of NSX calipers. Luckily they were not painted like crap. They were practically new. Fit perfectly.

Upgraded to some stainless steel brake lines from Comptech.

Replaced my warped stock rotors with some Rotora Slotted. They took forever to get to me, but they were worth the wait.

And lastly I went with the EBC Greenstuff pads.

I just had them all installed today. They are a big improvement over stock and I have had brand new brakes on my car before. Obviously not as good as a BBK, but a good alternative. I'm going to do some more testing the next week or so.
Here's the only issue I have....the pads seem to make a lot of noise, and not when stopping, all the time. I remembered that my last set of new pads did this as well for a couple days. Should I expect the same from these? I just find it odd. If it continues, I'm taking it back to the mechanic. Any ideas?
I'll take some pick of it on the car as soon as I get a chance to wash the damn thing. I also have to paint the rear calipers black. I don't think I'm going to high-lite it with red, or any other color. Either black or flat silver.

I've been thinking of getting new calipers up front since the latest set of rotors have warped as well and one evening I noticed a weird rubbing noise and it appears to have been the one caliper stuck to the rotor.
Where did you get the calipers?

good luck bro! my car is going in tomorrow AM for a full frontal change.. again! this is my 3rd brake change on the front in less than 2 years.
first i had powerslots w/ Satisfied Pro Ceramics... i noticed increased vibrations after about 6 months and jerky stops
second i had rotora slotted w/ ebc greenstuff... i warped them, some real bad vibrations at the moment
third i'm installing tomorrow... powerslot cryo-treated slotted w/ ebc greenstuff... i have heard a lot of good things about the frozen rotors, so we shall see
yea i know, why no BBK? well, all 3 setups and i still havent spent as much as a BBK would have.
i would have gone stainless steel brake lines, but do a search on google for "comptech stainless steel brake lines nsx" it will turn up a very INTERESTING article on them, turns out that you cant visibly see any wear on SS Lines, so when they go, they BLOW, and you wont know it. SS Lines are used for race/track cars and replaced generally every season, but guys leave them on for years thorugh many miles and weather conditions. just be careful ravi.
this caliper upgrade has interested me alot! if i do warp these i may try this or just suck it up and go BBK.

I have these rotors on my car right now and they are warped. I do believe the caliper got stuck and warped the one side and then through continued use they have warped just as bad as the stock rotors.

Oh sh!t that's hot
can't wait to see them on the car. Did you do the install yourself? Did you have to get rotors for a NSX or do the CL rotors fit on those calipers?
Thinking about the Legend calipers, but come to think of it, I had a 95 Legend coupe 6 speed and my brakes were not all that,
you guys say it's better than our stocks, I may start a search for those.

The rotors are for the CL. They're the same as the NSX.

Correct, but I don't think that changing the brakes is the best idea w/o changing the calipers as well since most people appear to replace their brakes over and over again, no matter what kind of products they use. I would purchase the same rotors again, but I'd change the calipers first.

Cool man. Speaking of brake calipers though, has anyone noticed the brake calipers on the new RL's? Those are awesome looking. I wonder if they would fit our cars and if they would perform better. Just a thought, I really don't know anything about them except for the fact they look awesome.

Hell yeh they look hot. But unfortunately, they will not fit. The caliper is a 4 piston caliper. The rotors for the RL are bigger than the CL. So, it will be the equivalent of a BBK.

Update....
Well, it's been about 2 weeks since I had the install done. Overall, I am very happy with the results.
There was a nasty squeal when I first got it back. I had a similar problem the last time I did the brakes with stock parts, but ti went away after a couple days. This time it didn't go away, so I took it back. The spring pad that fit into the caliper was rubbing on the rotor. Took that out and noise is gone.
The pads were spitting out a lot of dust at first. After they wore in a bit, the dust is minimal. They also grab pretty good.
for EBC.
The rotors do a pretty good job. The pads grip on them really well. There isn't any vibrations when I brake any more. It's a great feeling. I've been driving a lot and it's been raining a lot in Jersey. Absolutely no problem stopping in the rain. There is a small amount of rust in the slots of the rotor and on the areas that pads don't come in contact with. that's my only complaint, but I guess it was to be expected.
The only thing I have left to do is to paint the calipers. I'm going to do them in flat black. Kinda wished I had them powder coated. And of course I still have to taks some pics with them on. I'll do that next time I wash the bitch.

naw, just bustin' balls... It would have been nice, however. I was lookin' to find out about post transformation performance, and the fact that these guys (the engineers) whom have tons of experience (everything being relative), spend years studying, then researching, then practicing, to finally produce, and then here comes jojo to change everything. Not that I am putting it down nor do I not condone experimentation, but the algorithim value/performance most of the time returns negative values. And the fact that if the vehicle in question is ever in a serious accident due to brakke malfunction (God forbid), then... who are you going to cry too?. Still... I probablly would have painted the calipers before puttin' them on (something I have secretly wanted to do for years).
