Another New Guy
I've been lurking here for a few days, and on the occasion of me signing my papers (for an Aegean Blue 6-speed, non-Nav, to be delivered within a month) today, I thought that I'd come out of the closet, so to speak.
I had originally ordered a Mercedes Benz C230 back in October, but it hasn't arrived yet. Having owned 5 Honda products over the years, plus at least a passing interest in the CL-S, the newly available 6-speed practically pulled me into my local dealer like a magnet. I liked the car enough to buy one. I have no pity for the MB dealer, who is in for a bit of disappointment when my ex-prospective car finally does show up. Wah.
I found the shifter to be just about the best I've ever used in a FWD car, easily beating my '97 Prelude, and coming damn close to the one in my S2000. The clutch was a little grabby, but I figured it out by the time the test drive was over. The CL-S seems to be a great value for the price, and it should make a much better commuter than the Stook.
I don't plan on doing anything to the car anytime soon, though when the "fun" wear items go (tires & exhaust), I'll replace them with more performance-oriented pieces. I would like to know if anyone has found any decent, cheap aftermarket wheels to mount winter tires on. It looks to me as if 5th gen Prelude wheels should fit, but the set that I have in the garage is pretty beat up.
That's all I have to say.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your purchase. We don't get much snow in Cali so I can't answer your question but I'm sure one of the midwest/east guys will.

I've been a Lexus fan for a couple of years. Had a 95 ES300 before my 01 CL. I was considering getting the new IS300 before I ran across the CL....and I'm thrilled to say that I'm glad I went with the CL.
PS...I'm gonna miss the free car washes, chocolate mints, and flowers Lexus put on my dash when I'd get a service. But my CL services ME just fine!
