Looks to me like you ran over a big ROCK or something and it pierced the floorboard unless I’m mistaken.
Are you getting water inside? It looks like the seal is broken.

Warrantee….Don’t think so.
Insurance, yes if you decide to go that route.

How could you have done this and not felt it ???

Something like this happened to a buddy of mine. The car was already on it's last legs, so he basically just sold the car for parts. It was a HUGE pothole he hit. I actually went out to where the pot hole was to take a look at it. It was big enough to swallow a small house. Well, maybe not that big, but big enough to do some serious damage.

Insurance may be the way to go, but they might turn around a screw you in your next premium renewal...

I feel for ya' man. I really do...

Umm thats called someone using a jack in the wrong place and fucking up your floor board.

No way thats covered under warranty. Just get a hammer and bang it back down.

I wouldn't screw around with a problem like this, since your car's dropped, and you've obviously got a hole thats going to let water in, you better take it to the shop soon, before theres any rust eating your car...

the problem w/ your car was obviously caused by either a large object in the road or a misplaced floorjack. eitherway, it's operator error. to make it seem like you may have a warranty issue is not cool.

Yep..I've seen my cousin do this to his car. Do you jack up the car often? You/someone put it in the wrong spot and the pressure pushed a hole up. It's definitely not a pothole..unless you ran over a manhole cover!! It's easy to fix..just get one of those torches at Home Depot for 20 bucks and you gotta melt it then bang it out. Then use roofing tar to cover it back and seal it.

if the car was a piece of shit i would agree. but that damage needs to be repaired by a professional..... with a welder, automotive seamsealer, undercoating, etc.

Damn, that does look bad. Makes me wonder if I really want to lower my car now.

Question....Marc, I noticed on your sig that you have Comptechs in the front and H&Rs on the rear?? Is this because of the "rack" with comptechs all around? If so, how does it look?

thanks

That had to happen awhile ago, it looks like there is rust in the third picture. I vote for a misplaced jack.

Yes i am not a fan of the "rake" look. I wanted something to even it out. I love the way it looks, alot more even.

Achance, i can guarentee it happened on wed. It wasn't there on tues and i noticed it on thurs. I hit a big pot hole wed night so that had to be it. I just had no idea it could have done that much damage

Do you mind me asking which H&R springs you have on the rear? I just started looking into them and on H&Rs website they have "OE Sport, Sport, and Race." I am assuming that the ones listed on their website for the TL are also for the CL

Thanks again

Marc, don't be silly, it's very obvious that happened from improper jack placement...I've done almost the same thing to my CL-S when I had it...luckily I was paying attention to what I was doing and I stopped it soon enough....

are you kidding? - and not because your car is lowered, that is damage. which is not a defect in workmanship or materials, contact your insurance company

thats exactly what happened. you can even see the mark from the lift under the car. theres no way that was caused by a pothole

do you regularely bring your car to mom and pop shops?

Dude, if you hit a pothole, wouldn't there be more scrapes from it?
It seems to me that its just a gouge, not a large chunk is taken out.

You would have DEFINITELY caused more damage than just that, and you would have to hit a MAJOR pothole (I generally drive around them).

My vote is also on the misplaced jack.

Misplaced jack, no doubt about it. Note the complete absence of any damage to the undercoating aside from the spot where the jack plate compressed it.

Take it up with the mechanics that you had work on your car. You can probably find the floor jack to match the indentation. Bring a camera, snap a closeup of the jack plate and then of the jack in the shop the moment you see it.

Get the shop to pay for it! - They MISPLACED the jack or lift arm under there and the floorboard was supporting all the car's weight - That's why it broke thru!

Get the shop to pay for it!

it is impossible that the jack did it, Im tellin you. I noticed it on thurs but it wasn't there on tues. My car hasn't been jacked up in awhile. I was with my mechanic today when he took it up on the lift, i would have noticed if somethin happened. I hit a big pothole on wed night, the kind where a square is dug out and a pothole is sticking out (rode by there tonight). I saw the "lump" thursday when i was driving but i ignored it cause i thought something was underneath my floor mat. It turns out nothing was under my floor mat (as you can see). I am 100% positive this had nothing to do with a jack or lift. It was that pothole or something else on the road. I have no idea what exactly but i can definately rule out the jack theory. Its been to long since my car has been jacked up and i noticed it a few days before i saw my mechanic today. So there is no way.

I don't see how something could just come up out of the pavement and punch the bottom of your car like that.

Dude, be logical here and stop being so dumb. There is no way a pot hole can do some damage like this.

There is absolutly no way a pot hole did that. You gotta face reality. Not saying it was the jack today or yesterday, but at some time somebady misplaced a jack under your car.

Listen here newbie I am shocked to, but im tellin you there was no damage like this to my car prior to thurs when i noticed it. My car hasn't been jacked up in atleast a month until saturday. It may not have been a pothole but as i mentioned a little earlier it could have been something else on the road. The pothole is the only thing i can recall hitting, so that was just my guess.

Marc, I'm starting to realize that all these bad things keep happening to your CL-S because you're TOTALLY CLUELESS.

that is not pothole damage, it's from a bad jacking job....if you did it, and just can't admit it to us, then stop posting in here....
if you want to regain some degree of respect, please understand, and agree with all of us here...that happened when someone put a jack under the wrong spot on the car.

I maybe a newbie to the CL-S world, but I have worked on cars for more than 15 yrs, and I hate to tell you but you are stupid. A jack or jackstand caused that dent. Your cars underbody frame is VERY strong, and the only thing that will cause that type of damage is the cars weight being lowered on to the wrong spot (like the picture shows). Maybe someone was trying to steal your wheels and jacked the car up in the wrong spot and never succeeded.

You keep believing that, you already are loosing alot of respect from others on here I see.
