Another bad day my car.

when I was out in the morning my rear tire looked low so I filled.
3 hrs later it's on the ground I go to move my car and my car made a draging sound. No big deal,I'm use to the scrapes now and then.
So then I take off the wheel and look for the leak, hole, whatever.
I went to go into the house and turn with one last glance then I seen the edge of the bumper line was way off so I went closer thinking some one hiit my car but, when I went to the other side .That side was all ripped off half way to the grill and almost rip the whole thing off.
Once again,It probally didn't help not having my inner fenders and center splash shield on.
Now,
Should I just get a new factory cover or,
Some sort of aftermarket bumper set up.(No Glass).
Any idea's

Had a flat, back car to spot to lift and ripped the front bumper off on the ground, side tabs are ripped out.
I'm looking to replace the bumper since I'm not going to ride around with some tied up jimmy rigged s@#$.
I just need some opinons of what bumper to get.
Stock or after market?
Pics of any decent looking ones.

there aren't any good looking aftermarket bumpers out there that come in one piece.

Ebay is the only place that sells full aftermarket bumpers and all of them pretty much look like this:

I would go OEM if i were you

I haven't seen any fronts that look good either.
I saw one rear I would work with but,it's not a front.

you might be able to find a cheap used oem bumper on ebay or a junkyard, cause either way it's going to have to be repainted to match your paint color anyway.

I'm not looking for a used cover.
New oem is just over $200 so if I could get beter than stock for a little more, it's not a problem.
just trying to see if anyone knows of anything good.
now that the car will be seeing paint again the trunk will get done too.
I'm liking that M5 trunk lip in pictures.

$200 unpainted. You're probably looking at another $200 to have it painted.

I could take a pic but it not no big deal if you've seen the bumper off before.
The screw thats in the end of the bumper just ripped out.And tore the end piece off.
And the next 2 tabs on the bumper cover broke too.
and the rest was just pulled out from the bumper hangers under the lights

I'm thinking the paint it self will be close to $200 alone never mind the labor.
Paint is ppg global.

so the actual part that you see is still fully intact (cosmetically) ???, just the clip sections are kinda like ripped out then???

if so, i just pop it back in, and then for the end screw put a larger washer on it so it kinda squeezes the plastic, so it stays

or if you want to, just put like a little caulking or something where those tabs mount, and then pop the cover back in, should hold it more securly, while still be somewhat removable in the future

O, I could fix it some how but,I don't want to do that.
I have all 3 plastics under new. inner fenders, and center splash with new clips. And 2 weeks ago I put the new plastic radiator support cover with new clips. With a new bumper cover it will have a whole piece of the front redone.

Do you have spare paint left over to use or are they gonna have to color match it?

I have to have it remixed.
Color matching the paint should not be a problem. Paint is not that old,no fade.
I actually mixed the paint myself when I was working at the paint store.
The paint supplys I used costed about $600.
base coat, clear coat, hardener, flakes and something else.
shop supplied the primer.

i've seen aftermarket replica's of the OEM bumper, but i'm not sure where they sell them. i'd imagine they'd be cheaper though

but alot of times the fit is nowhere near that of OEM, and $200 for a OEM is actually not that bad really, so better to just go with the OEM one

the one i saw was on a CL-S at a shop that was in an accident and the fitment looked pretty perfect, but i do agree w/ you. i'd rather shell out the little extra and get an OEM one, but not everyone would want to spend that extra $$$

I think I'm getting the oem.

I'm going to do something with the wheels first before the bumper cuz I'm sick of lugging around such heavy wheels.
These wheels look awesome but, littery take the performance away from the car due to the weight.
Me and the wife got a little heated about my car.
I have the cl and it's my nice car.
And I have a car that don't get the same kind of love the cl does.
I'm always doing something weather it's fixxing it or modding it.
The car drives about a week or 2 a month if that.We get stuck driving the shitty car all the time.
My toy should not be just my toy (she thinks).
So we argued to the point where we are going to look at some kind of family car/suv today. And then I can really make my car my toy.
So it looks like it's going to work out 2 fold for me.
new car,and have my car for a full on toy.
I just hope she want something on the cheaper side so that there's still extra to spend on the cl.

She hates my cl.
She assumes the car always has a problem either when modding it or fixxing it.
Girls, wait,"MOST" girls fail to relizes sometimes when modifing a car everything don't go as planed and sometimes things just don't work out at all and money is wasted or you have to keep spending to make it work.
Those girls think all you need to do is dump in the gas and your allset.

like i just had to replace my front right fender, and the insurance had given me like $220 for an new "aftermarket" fender, or i could get get a new OEM one for only like $250, so $30 more and i know it is factory , not much for knowing that

these two are advises

my GF is the same. she heard that im gonna spend some extra money for headers she's like crazy. but when i tell her to take a walk to grocery she's mad lol. they dont understand that the car is like piggybank there is always something or you just buy corolla or camry and feel the gas and change the oil. the car is something more for me that moving from A to B thats why i dont drive toyotas lol

i have to change all engine mounts buy poly i have to install camber kit do the aligment buy tires she doesnt understand that cost money, which is tight bc i just moved on my own. I noticed that after start the car(its a bit harder to start now) i think when its warmed up sometimes it hesitate and looks like its going to stall but i rev it and its fine. might be valves adj. idk

but for real you have to decide CL auto fail alot

sounds like there might be carbon on the back of the valves or something, which would do exactly what you are describing with harder starts and slight hesitation revving

but i would try cleaning the idle control valve also, cause that can cause similar issues also (but not that bad right now)

either way sounds like you need a intake manifold cleaning(aka sea foam or what i like better is BG's intake clean; but still the same end result basically)
then i would look into adjusting the valves, but it never hurts to doable check them and adjust as necessary though

then as long as oil changes have been on a regular basis, valves should be still be on, mine were at 105k, kinda pointless for me to have even gone in there lol

BG's intake cleaning, same basic cleaning as the seafoam thing, but a different product with a little different procedures and such, and you actually are suppose to put it through a metered orfice under pressure (which i do since i got the tool at work), to help make sure it gets misted/atomized when injected, so it can spread evenly and such (think like putting it through an always on fuel injector with it's spray pattern)

5k on synthetic should be perfectly allright (and a higher detergent oil should keep it clean anyways, so see recomendation below), and all oil comes out as kinda black looking, from carrying away the crud and such, more depends on how transparent and such it is, to really tell if it is still clean and such (should be able to still see through it pretty well especially if a light is behind it when draining)

but maybe try schaffer oil http://www.schaefferoil.com/ , cheaper then mobil 1, but does the job just as well if not better, and cheaper in the process also (you pay for the name on mobil 1 alot)

then the filter, try a carquest's blue line filter 85334, it is a WIX filter afterall, and what i use

and yeah the BG stuff is more shop oriented then the seafoam stuff but you can also inject it into the manifold also without pressure, just make sure you don't inject too much at a time, so it has plenty of time to atomize and such and not flood the engine

235 for a new bumper from Peoria Acura & 260 to paint it at their bodyshop.

I called, paid for the bumper. They gave it to their bodyshop. I picked it up painted & put it on myself.
