sometimes pass door wont unlock, sometimes seats wont slide forward or slide back, taking dash apart, warped rotors...unless its steeering problem, seat belts, mirrors, easily broken seat backs, droopy exhaust, 50/50 chance of transmission exploding, speaker buzz after replacing headunit without replacing bose.

I still will always love her, everything has its issues give me a car that doesnt and ill give you a unicorn

Sounds like most of those are annoying issues with just your CL in particular rather then issues with the design of all CLs.

That's all Honda paint jobs. They always have thin paint. Really sucks. I've had cars with 300k miles or more on them that have more rock chips then mine did by 60k miles.

I have to agree. I have a lot of paint chips on my driver fender and some on the hood. The paint looks very nice when clean properly but it seems like I find new rock chips all the time. I don't do the highway much so I don't attribute it to that. I'm currently looking for the dupi-color paint match system but can't find Anthracite in any of my parts stores. Tons of SSM and Graphite but no AM.

I'm only aware of maybe 2-3 of the things you listed, on my CL, personally.

I believe this will work if you ARE the registered owner of the vehicle with Acura.
In my case, I wasn't until I called them for the code and they updated me on the system.

? Well then I guess the guy who owned the car before me registered himself with Acura, since I went through the whole process with no problems at all.

ur talking about the steering wheel mounted audio control. I have the same problem. when ever i get time, i'll pop it off and clean the chip and the connections inside, if that doesn't work then its something that will take a while to fix.

Yea on the left side of the steering wheel with 3 buttons.. volume up (top), next track/station (Mid), volume down (bot).. my cruise control buttons work fine... ill try cleaning it out somehow like you stated. its only when i hit volume up that switches it to next song/station.. but after a while of pressing it, somehow fixes itself.

anybody else have the light rattle in their armrest?

its all tightened up, but still squeaks and annoys the hell out of me.
i'll probably have to open it up and use some xtra cushioning.

Rattles, rattles and more rattles... from the sunroof, somewhere near the back window. It's not so bad now that it's warming up outside. Also the cupholder's position relative to the shifter... I found myself having to reach above a large cup to shift into 2nd... (not fun entering a frontage road...)

of course theres gonna be rattles, depending on your year model the car is now 9 years old and most have well over 100k miles.

about the armrest opening, when its open theres a screw you see, tighten that down and it should stop, thats what I did for mine and it hasnt opened over 6 months now.

Don't use 2nd. I use 2nd maybe once or twice a month. I usually go 1-3-5-6 or 1-3-6 when I shift. More then enough power to do it and you save wear on your clutch by not shifting as often.

I also get 26mpg on average in the winter and closer to 30mpg in the summer and that's with a good bit of spirited driving. Think it works out well.

Not saying anyone has to. Just saying it's less work for more benefit. There's a reason Chevy puts Skip-Shift in some of their 6-speeds (mainly to meet EPA numbers but it does improve fuel consumption).

i've done it a couple times before (by accident ). while i was in 2nd, i wasn't paying attention and took 2nd up to higher speeds then i normally do. so, i just went straight to 4th. the car didn't feel right and i did rev match. it just feels like too much stress on the tranny and it's not something i can afford to take chances with

You aren't doing something right if you're having those issues. I'd bet you couldn't even tell I'm skipping gears if you rode along and didn't watch me shift.

Sometimes I go from 2nd to 4th to keep the RPM's down and to take a bite out of my sandwich. My earlier comment was mostly about how the cupholder is positioned relative to the shifter. I sometimes will put a large cup in the cupholder in the backseat to save room. I don't know what I'd do if I had a short-shifter.

I registered my CL-S to my name just a month ago, but I already knew this particular car well as my parents bought it new 12 years ago. Here's my list of complaints with the design:

- lack of headroom, since fixed by yours truly
- steering wheel is oddly large
- seatbelt retractors on both sides haven't been perky for the better part of a half decade now
- occasional rear package shelf rattle
- silly misaligned doors on center console cupholder
- abrupt throttle tip-in
- non-adjustable-from-factory camber
- large turning circle
- GPS graphics sure look dated after 12 years

This isn't to say that I'm not enjoying the car greatly. I love the power, even if said power is commonplace even on RAV4s and the like these days, the sound, and the look of the coupe. Factory HIDs are still factory HIDs even if they're not projectors, the heated seats still warm my bum just fine, and in general the car still has a feeling of being special.

What's more, I actually think the visibility outward (relevant given previous posters' complaints about front mirror and A pillar blind spots, etc.) is downright excellent. Then again, until modifying the seat my hair was brushing the headliner so my perspective on things may literally be different, or perhaps it is that car visibility in general has gotten that much worse in the three years since the last post…

What GPS doesn't look dated after 12 years. Then again this thing was dated when the car was first released.
