Well i finally realized the reservoir was the clutch fluid (i know i know). I never drained anything out of that. I just had a hard time finding the filler bolt, and on my 6speed it was a little hidden and hard to get at. Finally got the right tool to get the bolt off, filled her up, let a little drain out of the check bolt as directed, and tightened it all back up. Argh!

Ya taking out the battery might be a good idea. The filler bolt looks similar to the drain bolt. It's to the left of the battery - but it's lower than the bottom of the battery. I used the same Amsoil as the OP talked about. I don't think my fluid was that bad, but shifts are definitely smoother now, and 1-2nd is noticably less grindier.

Just to advise - GM makes Synchromesh, and Synchromesh Friction Modified. Completely different oils.
Friction Modified, at least in Canada, is EXTREMELY hard to find. Out of 10 dealers in my area, I was only able to scrounge up 3-quarts, all from different dealers.
I was having pretty significant chatter 1-2, and notchy shifts all around.
Did the Synchromesh FM - I didn't immediately notice a huge difference. Still some notchiness and chatter, but after a week or so I would say it's 95% gone. I can still feel a bit of tightness during my first 1-2 shifts when it's around freezing outside, sometimes a bit of chatter, but after that it's good to go.
My only problem is that I got so used to the chatter and notchyness that I would constantly be nervous shifting 1-2. Now I always shift nervously and slowly 1-2 and everybody thinks I'm on crack. Need to get it out of my head I guess :P

^ yah i've had a little trouble finding the FM also.
ALTHOUGH, i did find out that pennzoil has a syncromesh that is sold at my local autozones. its only 6-7 bucks a quart and it is infact relabeled GM syncromesh.

Whats up with RDX owners?

Indeed it is.
If you have a long enough funnel you dont need to take the battery out to fill it.
