Am i the first to blow a headlight?
Well, the bulb didnt die. Instead: heard from dealership today, and the passenger headlight wasn't functioning. The culprit is a bad inverter. I dont think i have heard of this happening to anyone else so i am guessing mine was an isolated incident.
The bulb stopped lighting up last weekend right after a car wash.

I had both sides blow at 2 different times and none of my lights are cleared. Both times puzzled the dealer, but was under warranty. What sucks is now your gonna get 2 different brand bulbs.

but i see no reason for them to change the bulbs. it was just the inverter. also, they use the same brand bulb when replacing if needed. it doesnt make sense for them to do otherwise.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
How can HID lights "blow"?
Isn't it just an electric arc generating the light? There's no filament to blow.
A bad inverter causing it to malfunction makes sense though.
Or am I just misinformed?

i am thinking the inverter is only for power supply, and as i said, the culprit was a bad inverter, not a broken bulb. the bulb could have been busted as well(hid bulbs can blow out easily, aftermarket ones like my friends has blown every 3 months so far)
i will check what the dealer wrote on the service papers to see what exactly was changed.

Well, whatever my problem was, I do have 2 different brand bulbs and can even show it by looking through the plastic. One is supported by 4 springs on the side, the other isn't.
