Aluminum Radiator Interest?
Hey guys, I'm getting Griffin to make me an oem spec aluminum radiator. I'm getting this with one of the TL guys, even though it's different. Before you guys go on a rant about group buys never working, i am getting this made regardless. They quoted me $300-400 and about 2-3 weeks to make. I want to know if anyone wants one before i make the call.

i dont know we are going to get hard numbers. i want this to OEM spec, as in, this should hold the same capacity as the stock radiator. i feel the stock flows more than enough. the internal design/construction is what will make this a better option. even though capacity may stay the same, or only slightly increase, the cooling will be MUCH more effecient than in a standard design. this in turn should release some lost HP/TQ from hot engines.
guys who will see benefits from this: heavily modded and forced induction. i'm not saying i will see a HP gain. or will i? ;]
sure the mugen thermostat/fan switch will open up at lower temps and effectively cool the engine better, but you are only opening up at a lower temp and allowing the same hot coolant to go in, with the radiator the coolant should be... cooler.
does any of this make sense? lol

well do it now and the price will be good. plus griffin is an awesome radiator company so you know its legit.
allout - i forgot to mention griffin uses 1.5" tubing with 2 core system. even if they maintain oem dimensions, this should hold more, not a lot, but id say it would be about 30% more effecient based on all the radiator information i've gathered from different sources.

to address the issue with those with the supercharger...
i met with withoutcomp1 and we measured and looked over the situation. the fans are going to be the least of the problems. if anything you may need to trim down the plastic fan shroud but it won't be a major issue. the main area in question is the radiator hose. we plan to keep stock location except angle the spout downward. this should resolve any clearance issues. enjoy guys. PM me if you want more details.
