Not sure if I need real alum or fake to match stock silver trim.
May do just part of the dash.
Any suggestions?

 

don't get fake aluminum, it turns yellow over time, I used exotic wood dash. they are all the same shit.

On their site for the CL, they only list 3 materials-
Synthetic Brushed Alumium $180.
OEM MATCH - SBLOE $180.
OEM MATCH - SDX $180.

Don't see real aluminum listed. I'll call them tomorrow.

 

I want to get one. Do they come off over time? is install hard?
$180 isnt that bad

 

Last I checked about a year ago, no one made a direct match. Maybe that's changed? Let us know.

 

exoticwooddash is telling me they make a match kit, I asked for a sample, but i think I want real alum, I think that is what rondog has but it might be a synthetic alum.

It seems to match very well...Does it look as good in person that it appears to look like in the photo's?

 

If they do make a kit, that's great. I don't care if it's not real. The stock stuff isn't anyway.

 

it's basically a sheet of brushed aluminum that was cut with a template. it doesn't fit PERFECTLY, but it is worth it to me. I would have taken better care to install it though, once you bend it , that's it. and once it sticks to the dash just a little, there's no gettin it off. so partially peel away the adhesive backing before you place it down. i got the real alunimum, the fake aluminum is juts polymer and a print like the fake blackwood. not worth it.

 

Rondog's aluminum is awesome. Similar to the aluminum trim from the M3, S4 and other real trims.

 

damn, i just want that shifter...
