Alternator and Starter Lifespan?
I've searched and found very few postings of either the alternator or starter being replaced. I have more than 113K on my '01 CLS and am starting to wonder when they will die on this car. If you've replaced either one would you post at what mileage you replaced them. Thanks.

i'm a mechanic at acura (for 3 years now) and i've never seen a starter being replaced on a cl-tl yet. as for the alternator, i've seen about 3 or 4 that has been replaced (whining bearings or not charging because of engine shampoo washing).

my starter was acting all funny for a few weeks. I had to wack the starter with a few time with the hammer for it to work....
Its been 3-4 months now and it works just fine. I guess it was something lose or something, hopefully nothing bad. oh yea i juss hit 70k

Replaced my starter today just after replacing a dead battery (coincidence?).
I've got 165,xxx on my '03 CL-S AT.
Starter was in stock at at Advanced Auto for $102.99
Thanks to the great input from this forum, it was a snap.
