Alternative to clearing/fogging, the custom made eyeshadows!
Alternative to clearing/fogging, the custom made eyeshadows!
Hi guys, just sharing some ideas on the alternative to going through all the trouble and risk clearing out your corner lights. Just cover it up with eyeshadows! (not exactly eyebrows). I was just bored on a sunday morning, I was thinking what should I do to my car today, because there has to be something new every weekend otherwise I get bored of it and throw it away
NOT.
So I went out and got these done, has anybody gotten theirs too? They sorta changed CL's eyes in a whole.
It was a pain designing the whole shape of the eyelids so they would turn out a fit to the CL exterior and blends nicely to the design flow. I was just looking for something that screams "I'm bad, i'm mean, imma smoke ya" >;]
I'm still looking for headers! Got spare OBX?

I suppose that these wouldn't be legal then? Not sure what the law is..."blackouts" are not legal but are partially blocked lights legal?
Too bad we couldn't get them molded by some company to be like the blackouts...easy on and off. The 3M tapes aren't easy to take off I imagine.

the low beams aren't blocked by much at all, the design curves down allowing minimal blocking, didn't see any difference in road brightness, the high beams would be blocked more, but i only used the highs for flashing cars. Covering is just about as illegal as clearing, there's no more orange lens in both methods. The cops here are more interested in the ones with broken lights. These carbon fibers come off in 20 seconds with no mark at all, these are my second design and application. Until there's a better method of clearing without risking fogging, I'll stick with this for now. Cuz i just can't stand those orange tone.

they're carbon fiber, pretty flexible, just gotta heat them up a little then mold them little by little, they stick on 3M tapes.

details, ok, well the carbon sheet comes in like rolls, it's like the vinyl, but it's just stronger, so it can be put on as exterior. I printed pictures of my original headlights and just designed a whole bunch of patterns, and finally i ended up with this design which i personally think fits the best among all my other designs, it blends nicely with the body design, and it gives it that 3 series eyeshadows look, but i didn't wanna copy it straight from those.
Overall, it has that fiercer look when the headlights are on, but during daytime it doesn't look much different, maybe because my car's color is pretty much the same as the carbon fiber. But it's enough to turn heads around, I enjoy looking at people's faces when they're trying to figure out what kinda car it is, cuz it almost lost most of the its acura resemblance. gosh i can't wait till winter is gone and put some real badass rims on, and the bodykit too.
Guys i haven't had a chance to take some pics during daytime, because I've been real busy at work during the day. I'll post some more pics this weekend. I need to get an alignment since i haven't done it since I changed the springs 2 months ago.

just look it up on ebay, i got mine there, there's always someone selling cf stuff by the roll there, you can use the cf vinyl ones too, they're pretty durable, if they wear out just keep a template pattern and make new ones, it's still cheaper than getting actual eyelids which cost up to 100 a pair
that's why it's called carbon fiber VINYL. Been lookin around for custom shops to make the REAL carbon fiber eyelids molding specifically for CL headlights, but they just wouldn't wanna do it, cuz the demand isn't that good. So as of now, the chance for gettin REAL carbon fiber eyelids for CL is slim to none, but getting the cf vinyl with REAL cl look is anytime now as soon as you make that effort to make one yourself.
Whats up man, first off, I'd just thought I would say that I am from the Boston area and I never see Cl's anywhere around here. I have a decent commute to work too, but never see any. The ones that I do are bone stock though. Secondly, your car is pretty sweet, I saw it on another thread you posted. Looks real good. Maybe someday on 128 or the Pike I'll drive by you and flip you the bird.... thats how you will know its me. Also, I was wondering what the emblem was on your front grill.... can you possibly post a close-up?
That's awesome, yea i never saw any modded CL around here, not even a TL that has more than OEM bodykit and spoiler. all i seen around here modded are the rice cookers accords and civics. We gotta unleash our horses all over their fake HIDs
Yea maybe we'll meet each other on the highways. man, you gotta show me some pics of your ride so i'd know if i see it on the road. I'm still waiting for my damn vanity plate, it's been over 2 months already.

oh, the emblem, it's "C type S", i like two sillable emblems and the 'type' part of the 's' snuck nicely into the 'c' it sorta make it even instead of leaving the 'type' sticking out of the 's'. i'll take some pics this weekend, i gotta build one of those galleries like other guys have on here
hey don't shut me down, i was half awake on a saturday morning when i set these up. Anyways, this is only the prototype, more designs to come, I'm getting it patented once i found a great pattern and have a custom shop to mold the real carbon fiber with matching body paint on it. The ending result should look better than the stock eyeshadows on the 3 series.
You will know its me when I flip you the bird and point! I will post pics when my car looks more than stock with a drop. I plan on 2003 taillights, 18'' rims (undecided as of now) when spring comes, some other small bolt-on performance parts. What about you... what rims are you thinking of when this shit weather clears. Oh yeah, where in Boston you from?
I'm in the allston area, blocks away from autohaus and RPM motorsports. For rims, i'm thinking either the superleggeras, RH M5's or RH S7's
I still dunno. how bout you, what are your choices?

Im thinkin Axis Se7en, or the Axis S7 Mods (coming soon), Alba Lexo's, or RS Limited Limix. I cant decide there are too many options. Im gonna wait until spring time anyway so that leaves me plenty of time to make up my mind.
