alpine cda-7998 recall

So i recently had tweeter install this unit in my car and something is fucked up with the gearing. It rattles like crazy all the time. I am sure it is the unit not the dash. I called tweeter today to ask about the unit and they said they dont sell them anymore cause alpine recalled all the ones they had. This fucking blows. I have to wait till monday to call alpine about this. What will alpine do about this. Will they refund me my money or what?

Hmmm no replies. I know some of you on here have this unit. Did you receive the notice. I brought my car in again to a different tweeter to have another person check out my problem , and when he took out the radio he scratched the shit out of my metra kit. WTF is this bs. I have the worst luck with car shit. Now i have to try and get this worked out with alpine, and have to order a new kit now. Have you guys ever wished sometimes you just left everything alone.

I WAS car audio manager of a Tweeter location here in town. When I worked there they were always willing to keep the customer happy no matter what. Could have been my GM at the time too, he would'nt mind EXCHANGING bad units as long as they were current. You need to talk to the GM of the store and let him know whats going on.

Well this is fucking pissing me off. So i talked to several stores around the area and they all say it was recalled. I called the store online i bought it from and they said the same thing. But somehow when i call alpine they deny the whole thing. I guess they want there customers stuck with faulty units. I liked alpine, but dont know if ill buy anymore alpine now. This is such bs. How can they deny it when no stores will even sell them because of it. Now i gotta send it in to fasttrack so they can spend forever trying to fix a defective product yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Ummm...I can't believe Alpine is denying their own recall. Try to get a recall bulletin from Tweeter or something.
