Alpha Werks Headers Dyno and Technical Info
Hey guys, I just wanted to post some technical info and dyno sheets for the Accord V6, TL, and CL headers. Again, these headers are for the automatic transmissions only, and fit the 99-03 TL (ALL) and 01-03 CL (ALL) and 98-02 Accord V6. And the cat back exhaust was fitted on a '99 TL also, so it will fit the 99-03 TL (ALL), 01-03 CL (ALL) and the 98-02 Accord V6.
Below are some specs on the products and the dyno runs on both an
Acura CL and an Accord V6 that has the same engine.
DYNO #1: Acura CL dyno from www.acura-cl.com member ?

The dyno seems about right though. I made the same power, with similar mods, on my car. I never dyno'd with UR pulleys though. Really wish I would have.

Does the dual exhaust fit the CL?
What's the entrance diameter for the mufflers, I think I would change the mufflers out to something less "round," probably magnaflow.

The saying goes, "R+D is in the details." I personally do not know what the numbers are on other headers, I can only speak for the headers that we distribute.
The best thing is that many members of this forum have already dyno'd the product and their numbers back up the performance of the product.
I am confident in the power output because part of our contract as exclusive North American distributors of Alphawerks is that we are required to dyno all their products in a very particular fashion.
Alphawerks requires that all the dynos we display be done at an independent facility in South Florida. The reason for South Florida, is to assure that the product will make power on any USDM car anywhere in the country. These dynos are done in 90+ degree temperatures and at over 100% humidity. In fact when we did our dyno testing on our 350Z headers it was so hot that the car overheated several times in the middle of the dyno runs. It is because the Alphawerks dynos are independent and done under such harsh conditions that Nexus Industry stands behind every single one of those products.

Here's my little review.
I've had the AW headers for quite some time now (4 months) and they were installed by an Acura mechanic.
I've had resonance problems since the week after he installed them. I thought it was the tranny that was making that noise, so I took it in and they put a new tranny in, but the noise comes from the Y-Pipe. The mechanic retorqued everything but it didn't help. Also, it had a little leak where it connects to the exhaust, but it wasn't too bad.
Just letting everyone know before buying these.
Price vs Power, these are the best thing you can get for this car performancewise. If it wasn't for the resonance, I would pay double for these if that's how much they cost.

I feel you on the resonance, I have the Stone headers and the same issue. Im probably the only one that can or ever will tell, but durring some slow to moderate acceleration, you can hear it right around 2500 rpm. I wonder why that is? Or anything that can really be done about it?
#28
I
Exactly, only mine is at 1700 rpms. The only reason why I thought it was the torque converter at first is becase it won't do it when the car is in park. Only when it's in motion do you hear it. It's not something you notice right away, but it becomes really annoying after a while, especially at low rpm highway speeds.
BTW, the mechanic's name on thsi board who installed them is AkuraTek. I'm sure he can tell you guys more where exactly it's coming from.

Car_lost,
I am going to take a stab in the dark here and say that you have a 6-speed. If you do have such a model would you be interested in a sponsorship that would be mutally beneficial to both of us? We need a 6-speed to test fit because the part was developed off an auto tranny. Please let me know what the case is...just PM me...

i dont have a 6-speed. its just that many people have asked this question with no response. especially when it makes 100% sense to make them instead of the auto ones. the 6-speed headers have a slight bend in them in order to fit the 6-speeds. along with fitting the 6-speeds, they fit the regualr automatics just as well.
there are quite a few florida members that have a 6-speed though so im sure it wont be THAT much trouble to get one. the first that comes to mind is fuzzy03cls, if he is not interested, then i guess make a thread asking for one.

Also those mufflers really don't do it for me at all. They look ricey, like coffee cans. I don't think they'd look good on a CL, maybe on the Accord, but not on our cars IMHO.
