Almost raced a CL600 today.

A guy that works across from me has a black CL600 and I see him on the way in often. Today we were lined up at alight and he needed to get over into my lane. To my surprise he actually goosed his $120k car and got in front of me. I'd love to race this car. I know I'd get my ass handed to me, but I'd still like to give it a shot.

The CL600 has almost 400ft/lb of torque!! The 385hp V8 version only hits 0-60 in 5.7, so how fast do you guys think the V12 would be? I know some 12's are a bit sluggish off the line getting all those cylinders moving.

Anyone got the speed numbers on the CL600?

(and before all of the quick to judge, slow to read people start saying, "HE WILL KICK YOUR ASS", I'm sure that is the case. I just want to know the numbers on that car, and hell, I'd take him on just for the fun of it anyways--)

If he's got a CL600 he already has 12 cyclinders. The CL500 has the V8. The CL600 has a V12 with 362HP and 391 lb-ft torque.

You would have lost no doubt, but it is not as fast as you think. Manufacturer's data has CL500 taking 6.1 sec from 0-60 mph and for the CL600 takes 5.9 sec from 0-60 mph....CL500 weighs over 4100 lbs.. and CL600 is over 4300 lbs.. heavy beasts!

Very interesting numbers. So, a race only to 60 would probably be pretty close. I bet the CL600 would be slower off the line, but by 60 he would be really picking up speed and opening the gap bigtime.

Those numbers are not that impressive for a 120,000+$ car. If I ever catch this dude at the light again I'm going to go for it.
