All those with actuator problems please post

GTO2050 was kind enought to give me the address for a contact at Acura to whom I can write a letter concerning our lil' old actuator problem.

Can everyone who has had their actuator replaced or is currently malfunctioning please post here over the next couple of days so I can get a count.

So far I know there is me,
I think it was Crippen, Amir, Scalbert, BBSAcura racing.

Who else?

I will gladly write them a letter to bring this to their attention.

Also, Soopa--how many people do we have registered here so I can calculate a percentage?

Please post the best previous link on how to check, for folks who are reading this the first time; so they can check their own actuator. If yours is working today, does that mean it will be working tomorrow (i.e. how often do you have to check)?

Yes, I have the invoice for the repair.

I'll keep bumping this post back up top until about Tuesday at which time most of us should have been able to respond to it.

Thanks all. We'll get this taken care of--can't have CLs on the street lookin bad can we?

I believe that I was the first one with problems in Orange County. Mine was replaced on May 17th at Tustin Acura. (after major hassle with So Coast Acura - Search archive to read complete thread). I actually had to meet with the District Service Manager, Western Zone, Scott Fischer. He SAID that he would initiate a TSB for this problem! Maybe you should contact him first to see if he has done, or is doing one yet! 1 (800) 382- 2238.

Also, I think that "Green Box" went down to Tustin Acura and got his fixed a couple weeks ago!

So there's TWO MORE!!!!

My invoice says: (1)17151-PFW-J01 Actuator comp, byp (?)

It's not quite like your SSN, once you sell your car you could car less about the VIN, your SSN is yours for life so you should protect it dearly. If it was that private, it wouldn't be in plain sight in the windshield. Anyway, don't post the whole VIN, just the piece that matters. Here's the format:

19U: Honda
YA4: CL
2: 2-door/5-speed Auto
n: 3=base, 4=premium, 5=premium w/Navi, 6=Type S, 7=Type S w/Navi
n: Check digit
1: 2001
A: Factory - Marysville, OH
nnnnnn: 6 digit serial number

The only thing that matters is the last 6-digits, so I would think you are free to post something like 004xxx which I would post for my car. If you want to guess, you have 10,000 or more different possibilities just for me. YMMV. Don't forget the check digit. Go for it.
