I pulled the U-tube out(pull it hard straight down) and removed that rubber gasket. I replaced the gasket with a RV sewer gasket. I am out of town now, but I will take a pic for you and post it when I get back. I got the rubber part from Walmart and it looks like item '21340' on this website: http://www.go-rv.com/coast/do/catalo...78&pageNum=437

It is made of rubber and I put one end of the RV sewer tubing in it and pushed it down into the airbox to replace the rubber gasket that was there. It created a VERY snug fit.

why are yall putting the tube on there at all? it serves no purpose if you arent running the resonator...all you are doing is making your intake suck air from behind the hot headlight.

so just leave the tube completely out? leave the filter element exposed? I got no problem with that, it would give me peace of mind to get the loose tube out of there anyway.

HA! i just did this after reading the thread. Pretty damn easy...took some finangling to get the resonator out of the car with the suspension being lowered, but it wasn't too hard at all. The U tube actually came out with the resonator so i figured there was no point in putting it back on. Strange place for the factory to put the air inlet...right behind the headlight...

I really heard no difference in sound...a little more wooshing under throttle maybe, but not really noticeable. I just gave it a few revs afterward to hear it...wonder if i'll hear anything while driving...
