Air filter

Guys
Can anyone recommend airfilter?
I call K&N and they don't have one for 2001 CLS

do a search on "k&n drop in filter"
....several members where able to find the part number.

I believe the active part # is
33-2178 for the CL-type s.
I would however suggest going with the
AEM CAI or somthing similar to feel a
real difference in performance. Heck even
a modified air box setup w/ a power stack cone filter did very well until I installed my AEM system.
Just a suggestion.

Get the AEM, don't waste your money and time looking for the drop in when a long hard cold air induction unit is what you're really wanting

check my bio for the cl-s part number.

I got 4.2 mph more highway, and 2.8 mph more around town. The car did perck up a bit, but I don't have any gtech gadgets to confirm.

I still think the cai is overrated as a mod by itself. With only a 6-10 hp increase (i'm sure its more like 6 without also adding headers), that is 2.3-3.8% increase, yea like you will notice that. The sound in vtech range you definitely will notice.
Headers with Cai is another story. But once again only good above 5000 rpm. Depends on where you drive.
