cross drilled is the little holes you see... drilled all the way through.

slotted is when there's deep cut ridges coming from the center of the brake to the outside. it's cut at an angle.

dimpled is like drilled but not cut all the way through. it's just as it sounds, a "dimples" in the plates.

you could change the back ones but not as necessary.

I was just wondering about this myself. Are there any good rotors out there that wont warp the way the stock ones do???

Look at real race cars and you rarely see drilled (usually done more for weight than cooling or fade). If cooling is the goal, slotted is the ticket. Dimpled is fairly new and I've even seen combo's. Bottom line, what's your goal? For some, it is just looks. On a pure street car, there may be little difference in feel. It wont knock 20 feet off of your braking distance or give yoou a firmer pedal. They'll just be a little lighter and vent heat better. This will improve fade on repeated heavy braking.

You can get Brembo blanks (from many places), ACP rotors (www.autocarparts.com), or check out www.brakezone.com (talk to Sherwin, they are in Van Nuys).

Go to www.islandmotorsport.com or call and talk to Jimmy as they have Brembo blanks, cadium plated, cross drilled and slotted only, for $69.00.
I bought a set of fronts with AEM ceramic pads and I must say that the car has never braked so well, as smooth as butter.
They bite much sooner with much less fade than before with zero shake.
For $203.00 total, the package was a steal in my opinion.

I saw sonor's in person. Very nice. I have EBC's slotted and dimpled rotors and greenstuff pads. They deffinitly stop alot better than stock, especially on the highway. If you get slotted just be ready for some rattle snake noise. I was upset at first when I heard it, but it lessens in time. Plus it doesn't bother me anymore

Get Brembo rotors I got mine from Tirerack for only $50 @. They also have Brembo cross drilled and slotted. I don't need that for my kind of driving.

Dimpled makes annoying sounds. Get crossdrilled and slotted.
