So i was driving around today and kept hearing a rattling sound. turned out to be that the mounting bracket from my AEM intake broke clean off. Has anyone been able to get them to replace this?

Yes, I had the problem and its a defect in their design. I called them and after waiting until they made more red units, I got a beand new one free. The welds are completely different. If you want, I can take a pic and post. Now I have to find the time to repace it. I might just have Acura do it when it goes in for service.

 

did they require any serial numbers or a purchase receipt? i can find it but i am not sure how easy it would be.

they never returned any of my calls. I just took it out and cut it down with a Saw-Zaw and made it a short ram intake.... that should hold me over until i am ready to get something else.

Damn, that sucks! No free replacement now!

 

I sent them my e-mail copy for the purchase from www.autocarparts.com. It took FOREVER to get them to send the replacement though.

I wouldn't say that. I simply had to send them the receipt and they wanted a pic of the failed joint. You should be able to do that even if you cut it, no?? Well I guess it depends on how short the ram air is!

 

If you don't have to send it back to them you should be ok. Otherwise, they may not honor it.
