AEM CAI install question

hello all:

i finally broke down and bought an AEM CAI. It should arrive toward the end of the week. My questions is simple - is there anything I need to know before I start taking my car apart to install this thing? Does the unit come with good instructions from AEM?

Are there any common pitfalls that a lot of people encounter? I'm usually pretty decent at mechanical items. I used to mess around a little with older cars, but I haven't done too much with cars like ours that have advanced electronics and computers.

After I get this thing installed, I'll probably get a G-Tech to see what type of numbers I'm running. I noticed that I can launch much better now since I have the Comptech springs, so hopefully the CAI will compliment.

as always, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I hear Chad's FAQ has good instructions, unfortunatelly I dont have a link. Be patient with the install as some screws are hard to get to, especially underneath when taking out the resonator. AEM instructions are not very useful.

Its Chods FAQ. Do a search on it...archives.

Its a very simple install, NovaWhiteTypeS came over and we did it in no time.

The only pain in the ass I ran into was getting that damn splash guard shit or whatever thing that is in the front off.
The little plastic screws were a bitch to get out.

Don't do the bypass valve either. You have to take a hacksaw to the beautiful piece.
And you most likely won't be driving in 2 feet or deeper of water.

You will love the sound of the intake. The resonation and sound are similar to a GSR, Type R, or Prelude with the AEM.
