AEM CAI or Icebox

Everyone is saying different numbers so how much more increase in hp and torque will i get with the icebox. Also the CAI sounds nice in videos, but in person how loud is it really? Will it attract the cops, and does it sound ricey at all?

true .. i heard the bypass is a waste of money tho.. it reduces HP and only works if your filter is submerged .. but idk maybe some1 can give some more info

the only way to suck up water is for the filter to become submerged if you have a bypass valve it will open when the filter is submerged and completly prevent water from entering your engine the HP loss to my knowledge has never been back by a dyno

I love my AEM CAI. It's loud as hell in VTEC, and a couple members here heard it on the highway this weekend, and they said it sounded mean as hell. Now I'm gonna have to have someone drive my car on the highway, and hit WOT with me in another car next to it, just so I can hear it. I love the sound, but if you wanna be a little more...stealth...get the icebox. It's not ricey sounding at all, unless a loud, growling, screaming banshee is ricey.

I have no bypass, cuz I don't plan on driving through ponds or lakes at WOT.

yea i jus got ma AEM a few weeks ago... the vtec sound is now addicting.... its a crazy deep pitched, growl.....but not anyting like an exhaust rumble.... and u get the cool ppssssssshhh sound when u turn the engine off.. and ppl are like whoa, wut was that?? adding an intake doesnt really add any noticeable (seat of the pants) power, so intakes are more for the sound than hp, imo.. so unless ur goin for all out power ie. headers, exhaust, intake, vtec controller,etc... than i dont see y u hsould pay way more for the icebox. yea im kinda iffy about hydrolockin too, but u have to be in a pretty deep puddle goin WOT, so if ur smart and careful u should be okay.

what about sound differences with headers/intake/exhaust when the intake is the AEM vs the Icebox?
