I just got a quote from a local garage, here in Vancouver, Canada.

AEM CAI + bypass valve...$425
install..................$80
14% tax(damn cdn govt)...$70

grand total out the door=$575 CAD

After the exchange rate, it roughly translates to $375 USD.

Would that be considered a good deal or am I getting ripped off?

Well, look at it from this perspective factoring out the variances between US and Canada retail:

AEM CAI + bypass valve = approx. $275 USD

Install/labour...that figure is pretty much the standard up here so there's no way around it unless I do the install myself. And, I wouldn't trust myself doing anything technical beyond changing a bulb, checking tire pressure, and filling up gas...lol

Canadian taxes...14%(7% Provincial Sales Tax + 7% Goods & Services Tax)...fact of life in British Columbia...we get raped every single minute by the government. Sometimes, I do wish that I lived south of the border=)

SilverESS,

I am very happy to hear that Nothing makes me happier then satisfied customers. I do my best to address any and all issues in the best manner I can. So when I read posts of Happy Customers it really does make my day I have been curbing many urges to post Xephyr Performance CAI's adds in here with all of the AEM talk, but word of mouth is my best advertising - And you guys are smart enough to make the choice that suits your needs. Thanks again ... SilverESS drop me an email let me know how it looks , performs , sounds... Id love to post some more testamonials on my site

Best Luck to you !!
