AEM Bypass valve=garbage. What to replace it with?

Hey all,
After reading DeLucCL-S' story of his AEM bypass valve ring getting stuck in his throttle body and nearly killing him, I've decided its time for mine to go. Its falling apart anyway.
Nontheless, for you guys who HAD a bypass valve, what did you do/use to keep the two piece of the intake together?
Thanks!
Chris

silicon hose.

Or you can stop by ace hardware and they sell rubber peices that are much cheaper and do the same thing.

I would reccomend thought that you put some kind of bypass valve in there. You might want to try one of these:

I ordered a 3 inch one for my supercharger... should be in next week.

I wouldn't use one. PA doesn't really have flooding problems. I ran without one for years in south FL & had no problems.

Why are people having such problems with their by-pass valves? Last time I looked at mine it looked like new and i've had it installed for 2 1/2 years. Hopefully it stays new b/c several times I've driven in bad rain and got home only to find the filter soaked... so I'm glad I have it.

It seems like everyone that has the bypass valve has problems.....eventually. It seems like a waste of $50. Mine broke....and now its replaced with a silicone tube.

I used to be a Bypass Valve believer, but mine is sitting on the workbench in my garage now.

My AEM bypass valve is still sitting in the garage...

And, if the polar ice caps melt or the earth tilts on its axis, it will still be there -- I'll just get a snorkel kit and chop a hole in the hood before I put the POS on ...
