Adding tranny fluid
Adding tranny fluid
Owners manual 2001 CLS:
"Remove the fill plug and add fluid to bring it to the upper mark."
Fill plug is under car? Fill plug and dipstick are two completely seperate items?
Can't i top this thing from under the hood?

Found this:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ight=fill+plug
The fill plug is located on top the the tranny, driver-side, between the engine and tire. It is large (17 mm?) and and 'ATF' printed on it
and this
Pickles: the fill plug is a 17mm bolt, unless you have the oil jet installed, in which case you have to remove a 15mm (i think) bolt, and the oil jet nozzle....the fluid then goes directly into the middle of the fill bolt.
Situation is i did the old Jens style 3X3 change. Final refil said 2.75 quarts.
Is 2.75 qts accurate? Currently mine hits the dipstick but is below the "low" circle.
Anyone got link to pics?
Would you drive another inch if fluid level hit dipstick but was below low circle?
