Acura and Transmissions

I was reading the press release from the LA Auto Show on the 2011 TSX and stumbled on this:

"In addition, the Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission now features a fluid warmer that helps improve shift quality, transmission durability and engine fuel economy for TSX owners who live in colder climates."

The part about transmission durability has me wondering if Acura knows anything about automatic trannys. I would have thought they would have learned by now ......

Basically what they're saying is that they fixed it.

Does this apply to Honda's new ATF, which is supposed to be optimized for lower temperature use?

On the CLs it flows through the radiator to help it heat up on cold days. Same thing. Automatic transmissions have done that for years to both heat the fluid in the winter and help cool it in the summer.

Manual CLs or TLs don't have or need their fluid warmed up, is this correct? Eventually it'll warm up by itself through driving.

the auto cl does not connect to the rad...

i don't see 2 inlets and outlets on the radiator. not that i went in my garage and checked but, ive been under the hood a lot and i'm pretty sure i would have noticed.

the only line coming out of the trans is for the atf filter which is where you tap in to put on a cooler.

if it did the trans would fail before you need to change the oil. LOL
