I returned the postcard, but obviously didn't get picked to the test drive. They are looking for a specific demographic group or something, and I probably didn't make it.

Anyone else lucky enough please post info!

They're probably looking for a bunch of 50 year olds who'll say, "Oh, driving a stick is SO much work. I'd never buy one."

mdaniel,

Excuuuuse me?

Ya wanna real sports car? Go buy a freakin' Porsche or a Honda S2000. Or maybe you could "rice" up a 5-speed Integra and shift it in metro D.C. traffic till your nuts turn blue. I was drivin' sticks long before you were even one of your father's wet dreams! The CL-S is targeted for us 50 year-old geezers--not YOU.

Excuse me for liking to control my own car. I don't rice up cars. I'm 28 and used to drive a 92 Integra. No mods. I wanted more power, luxury, and class so I got the CL-S. Again, no mods. I just didn't realize how much I'd miss the extra control a manual transmission allows. Oh, and I've lived in SoCal all my life and never thought driving a stick in traffic was that big a deal. Where is this venom coming from?

I'm a 34-yr old "geezer", and I want a 6-Speed.

I think a lot of CL’s are being sold to people WELL below the original “target audience”.

the only thing i question is i thought i remember reading about this letter somewhere saying its was a "brand new car" - then can you drive a stick? - well the rl is coming and its all new - but not with a stick, the cl is going to remain the same essentially, so i don't know, i suppose when we all see it we can believe it, i'll roadtest the first one when and if it comes in

Umm, Technoid,

Wasn't that you taking the stock wheels off 50 Chevy's and your Dad's ford and putting Cragars on it? Were you the one stapping a big honking Tach onto the steering column with a hose clamp?

Some things stay the same...

I was thinking about this last night. I thought I screwed up by telling them I've been driving a manual car for 10 years. They probably think I'll be biased towards manual transmission (which I am!) and axed me from the list!

Damn it! Stupid stupid stupid...

Chill out bifocals...I cant help the fact that the first car i ever owned happen to be stick and I like the way I can play with the knob... ooops I meant shift the knob!!!

Damn old geezers like you who drive a sports car but refuse to go faster than the flow of traffic on the first lane needs to be slapped upside the head...
