So, I went to my Body shop yesterday and they were not sure if the shift knob is a screw on.

Anyone in here replace the OEM shift knob before? How do you take it off?

I should use a hair dryer to moisten the shift knob and attempt it again, I hope it is a twist off process....

i tried lefty loosey.

I am putting on a mahogany burlwood shift knob. It is the same shape as the OEM shift knob, but has the wood knob instead of the black leather.

BTW...where did you get it and how much?

 

Replaced mine with a $25.00 OEM MDX wood knob from e-bay. It's tighter than you know what, but it does unscrew counterclockwise.

 

Counterclockwise? Really? i have been turning it the wrong way then. Thanks us000011.


Cl'er, I was searching everywhere and finally found one on E-bay.

They usually run around $80.00 -$90.00 I think. I got it for $55.00 w/o S & H charges.
