Just thought I would let you guys know that I beat a stock 4.2L V8 audi (I think it has approx. 302HP). Obviously the car is heavier, but I beat him by a car length.

In first and second, I was already ahead and this was from red light, not from a roll.
In 3rd gear, it was still constant, and we finally shut down.

The audi guy pulled down his window, asked me if I was stock, and grinned, stating : "Hell ya".

He was surprised, and so was I.

In my second ever quarter mile race i toasted one by 1.4 seconds and climbing by the end of the run, i was stoked. I did have the SC. Good looking car with 300 HP, but heavier than us.

the A6 4.2 weighs over 4,000 lbs. its 300 hp its geared VERY conservatively. a chipped 2.7T will smoke the pants off of a 4.2 A6.

at the end of the day, however, the A6 is 10 times more luxurious than a CL, so who gives a fuck.. acura has never been able to step out of the "near luxury" segment and into the TRUE luxury segment with the likes of BMW, MB and Audi.

I'm surprised you only beat him by 1 car...you should have SMOKED him with Headers and Intake easily. Stock vs stock, you still would have smoked him off the line...what did you do wrong? The A6 4.2s are POS in terms of performance. I use to own one and I would get my ass kicked by E430, GS400, 540s all day long..especially off the line.

2.7T would be a closer race but with your mods you should still be able to take one.

the current A6 is reveared all over as one of the most beautiful, well laid out, and timeless luxury sedans. the CL-S is a spruced up 1998 honda accord coupe....whoopdie doo.

oh and by the way, i had a 2002 CL-S...bought it new, had it for a year, had alot of fun with it actually....but then i got bored with it, got sick of the constant rattles, the FWD, and other things. and im still here because people love me

scalbert, while i respect you...on some level anyway...and have been impressed by what youve done with your CL, i absolutely refuse to get down and suck you off like the rest of this forum and treat you like some kind of god. its ridiculous. I am sorry that your life revolves around this forum and your car, i wouldve figured that with all the money and time you invested into having children, youd start to spend more time with them and your beautiful wife instead of pissing away your life with your CL and on this forum. your lovely family consists of 3 living, breathing human beings....your supercharger and custom manifold and everything else is nothing but garbage that will rust in a dump somewhere a few years from now.

aside from that, what does my car being used have anything to do with anything? your car is used too. i just let someone else take the depreciation hit after learning how AWFUL that hit can be with a car like the CL-S which i had HOPED would not lose 1/3 of its value in 11 months, its disgusting. so while you may be all proud of your CL because you bought it new, wait till you go to sell it and you cant even get 10 grand for it.

and as far as modding goes, what point are you trying to make? first of all i dont make a shitload of money like you and have thousands of dollars every month to flush down the toilet on my car. secondly, i have done some "modding"...nothing too substantial and nothing performance related but my car is definately not stock. and lastly, if it means that im a pansy because I dont want to spend the 5,000 dollars it costs to replace the turbos on an A6 when they blow because i had a chip and my warranty is voided because of it, then i am a pansy. i know far more about audi's and especially the attitudes toward all levels of modifications that most dealers, as well as Audi Of America have than you do and let me tell you, it isnt pretty. Audi dealers now have a system that they connect a car to their computer systems and simultaneously, technicians and engineers in germany can be viewing any and all information on the ECU. It is basically standard operating procedure at this point, in the event of blown turbos, that an Audi rep comes to the dealer and inspects for any evidence of chipping. Audi has become so stringent on chipping that they have all but taken the dealerships service departments completely out of the equation when it comes to diagnosing turbo failure and its cause. Due to these factors, i have made the choice to instead concentrate on the handling characteristics of my car as well as cosmetic modifications. at least those will not void the warranty.

so again, thank you for your snide remarks, but if youre trying to impress me with your attitude and your power as a mod, please save yourself the trouble, im not impressed.

About the used car comment, you want to praise your purchase and compare it to the CL which is not of any value. We have already hashed this out in another thread so no need to clutter.

About the mods statement, at least we agree, you are a pansy.

Concerning this forum, I own a CL and am interested in enhancing it along with helping others. What is your basis for being here?? You seem to be too quick to insult others and provide little to no benefit, so I wonder... Keep to the topic and discuss how the car won or not or even what possible outcomes might be. Keep the, "well the Audi interior is better" crap to yourself or mention that on an Audi forum. Or even mention it here, but in Car Talk, etc. This is the Racing section and should be left to that.
