Just to inform you guys that I raced a Nissan 350Z. Off the start, my boost was faster (by the way, my car is completely stock). However, his third gear was much more powerful. He beat me 0-100km/h probably by 0.4 seconds.

yeah exactly what i meant. the 350z is lighter. I knew it would beat me. But it's 287hp is well taken into consideration when you want to race. Believe it, it's a speedy car.

the 350z is 5.5seconds 0-60mph. the cls is 5.9

Since when was a stock 2002 5AT CL-S 0-60 in 5.9 seconds? Last time I checked the most aggressive numbers around were about a 6.2 second 0-60 on a stock CL-S. A 2003 6spd CL-S will run a 0-60 in about 5.9seconds so maybe thats where you're getting your numbers from.

Dude... if you are saying you only went 0-100km/h how does 3rd gear even factor in? 100km/h is roughly 62 mph and last time I checked I'm still in 2nd gear.

Also if your "boost" off the line was better, how did he beat you by .4 seconds to 100km/h (and how did you measure all the way down to 4/10ths of a second while driving?)

Also was the Z an auto or 6-speed?

WTF... a 5-speed Altima V6 can do 0-60 in 5.9s and Z will do it in 5.59s! Just to let you know CL-S does it in 6.7s stock!.... a 6-speed Version will save you a 0.4 to 60!...

The stock auto CL-S is definitely faster than 6.7 to 60mph. Most likely 6.4 range. Although 0-60 is such a worthless figure that is given WAY too much importance by car magazines. So much can change from run to run (0-60). That is such a short distance. It's all about 1/4 mile times.

I agree!! When I look at peformance numbers, I look at 0-30, 0-100+ mph, 1/4 mile time & trap, slalom speed and topend. If I'm reading R/T, I can read these figures in context to the weather conditions (temp, humidity, wind speed, etc,...) $.02
