Acura Car Bra

Does anyone know how to correctly scrkew in the replacement screws they give you when you buy a car bra? Like there are two screws, one on each side, that you replace in the tire well area where the car bra is gonna snap on. Anyone with a car bra please AIM me! I need help! It'll screw in, but once you pull it, it comes right out! Help!

dude, you need to get that little rubber threaded grommet-type peice behind where you screw the snap into, otherwise you arent screwing into anything besides thin air, you push it through the back and screw in the snap once you get that plasticy-rubber-grommet thing in there..its hard to explain, i could take pics in about an hour or and hour and a half if need be...ive got the bra, i love the way it looks, its a PAIN IN THE ass to get on, however

That would be great! I would love pics! See i got the rubber thing...and the screw screws into the rubber thing and the rubber thing just plugs into the hole, but then if you pull on it...it comes right out...the rubber piece, the washer, and the screw.

I put mine in a long time ago and haven't had a bit of trouble. Course the reason is that I haven't worn that part of the bra since I got it! I only use the top part that protects the hood!

Sorry!

I just bought the Acura nose mask and installed it for a road trip. I followed their instructions with the install. After repleacing the plastic, "rivets" with the screws, I too found that they pulled out. However, once I had the nose mask completely installed, they were tight. I took the 6-speed on a 4000 mile road trip (that is why I bought the nose mask), and I didn't have any problems with the nose mask coming loose or flapping.

Me too... I only use the hood portion.

Part of the reason was b/c it's so easy just to add and remove that part. I didn't want to fuss with all of the clips. I have been toying with using the whole bra for long trips, but I try to take my wife's car for those!!

Guys,

Forget about those lousy bras from the dealer. They rub and they ruin your paint, especially if they get wet. You should get the UltraShield bra. Have one on my CL and its awesome. Check the site out....if you are in the west coast area, I have connections...

Well the point of the car bra for me is for my long distance trips...I am not planning to leave my car bra on. I don't want anything pernamently attached to my car either.

I think the key to success with the Acura bra (or any other for that matter) is to keep the hood well waxed, and to never let the bra get wet (good luck there!). If it stays tight and doesn't flap then I don't think you'll have any paint issues.....

I had one on my (I'll say this quietly) Maxima for years and never had a problem......
