Acura Bra/Road Trip

My sons and I will be taking a 3000 mile road trip the first 2 weeks in July to Mt. Rushmore and then through all of the mountains of Colorado. I was thinking of buying a bra just for this trip to protect the front end from bugs/chips. Has anyone tried the Acura bra. Is it a tight fit or will it flop around at 80mph?

i just bought the bra today, 149 at the dealer....let me say this "it is a BITCH to put on!!" hopefully its just the First installation that is a bitch and after it stretches out a tad it will be easier to take off and put back on...took about 1/2 hour -45 minutes to put the sucker on...its TIGHT...

Looks:

It actually looks very good, i dont have a front plate so it holds nicely on the front end and looks sleek, the peice for the hood has the "acura" name on it in some chrome plastic lettering that gives the bra some class. my car is black and it looks good, im happy with it...

Ride:

the thing is silent and doesnt flap around at all. i dont see how it every will either as the thing is so damn tight on the car...

Overall:

I bought the bra mainly because someone hit my bumper a few weeks ago and fucked it up and i dont have the 400 bucks to get the bumper repained...so i opted instead just to get the bra for now as it covers all the damage to the bumper and it protects the hood from more scratches...it will also protect the NEWLY repainted bumper when i finally have the money to do that...so im really pleased with it, i feel much better about my car now that the bumper cant be seen and the damage is hidden....i would have to say that this bra would look really good on the Agean blue or the Anthracite...the style of it just seems like it would compliment those 2 colors very well....i plan no leaving this thing on my car full time (except when i wash and wax) even after my bumper gets fixed...it looks really nice.

Does it require more than one person for the installation?

It's not to bad to put on. Just takes some time. BE CAREFUL when pushing the clips though the rubber, and the piece under the headlight. It scratched paint off my front bumper when pushing the piece in. I use it in the winter, but hit a deer, so all new bumper and haven't put it back on.

I would recommend it for the bug reason mainly.

Thanks for the feedback. The last time I had a car bra (on my then new 1983 Accord EX hatchback), the edge of the bra would flap at speed, and it actually scratched the clear coat. I am glad to hear that it is a tight fit because it should mean that there is very little if any movement

It isn't too fun to put on at first. It gets a lot easier. I never drive my car without it.

Bra

1MRDAD,

Look at 3M clear bras, before you buy a Acura bra. They work and look much better than regular bras. Some members in our group have them. Good luck.

Don't waste your money on the 3M clear bra stuff. They are not removable/resuseable. Unless you want a clear bra on all the time. If you only want to use a bra for road trips, to protect the front end, then the factory black bra will be fine. I have it. I used it 3 times. 2 3000K miles trips to NYC, & 1 trip to Orlando FL. It's a tight fit, & it doesn't flap at all. It is a BITCH to put on, & take off. I have used a few different ones & this is the most trouble. it's worth it though!
