Damn that sucks. Glad to hear your wife is ok!

10K in damage... Fuck! See if you can get the insurance company to total out the car. It'll never be the same.

Make sure your wife goes to the doctor, tomorrow she is going to wake up realy sore. In accidents, you tense up so much that you tear your own muscles.

dont know if you know this... buy you can sue the insurance of the other driver for "diminished value" to your car. Its basically what it sounds like... the loss of value you sustained because your car had to be repaired so much.
Good luck.. and i am glad your wife is okay.

Something else to think about. If they do total it, it will be for the value as if sold, not what you owe which is usually more than the value they are willing to pay. If your insurance doesn't include for the "gap" between what the value is and what the payoff is, you are out the difference. Might have to go after the other insurance company for the difference.

YMMV
