A4 vs CL-S

I see many people have been comparing our car to the A4 in previous posts. I shopped and drove both cars before my CL-S and I will post my impressions.

Looks--
The new A4 is kind of bloated looking to me...the 2001 model was gorgeous and I feel Audi made a mistake with the new styling. Although it still looks decent. The CL-S is a nice looking ride--not great...I would say they are both above average in looks...its hard to compare them directly because ones a coupe and ones a sedan.

Handling...
A4 with quattro outhandles the CL-S--its a tight car--CL-S handles pretty good...just not quite as good as A4

Acceleration...
The 1.8t quattro is slow...the CL-S smokes it by far...u can chip the audi but it will arguably void your warranty...plus a turbo will not last as long as a regular engine in my experience

Interior
I love the interior of the CL-S---better than the audi IMHO--the seats in the CLS hug you like no other--audi's are nice but not as comfy IMHO. Stereos are comparable...about average in both

Price/Reliability

To get an A4 the way I wanted it(loaded like the CL) would have cost about 33k. condsidering the first year german car possible issues, bad german car reliability(expensive parts) I chose Acura.
..dont believe me about audi problems? Check out what owners have to say on the www.vwvortex.com site

I got my CL-S for 27,500 loaded with Navigation...Acura/Honda is wayyy more reliable than AUDI...this was the deciding factor for me...I felt if I am paying all this money I want piece of mind knowing my car will last...

This comparison should be made with the TL-S and the A4 3.0, not the CL. I it wasnt for a a$$whole salesman at the local dealership and the price. I would be driving a A4 now. I love those cars. Im happy with my CL-S and will prolly keep it until the wheels fall off

True...

Your right that would be a more accurate comparison..I was just going by what I drove and what I considered. I found the Audi salesman to be a**holes too...pompous jerks...they would not budge on their prices either....1500 over invoice they wanted. I got my Acura CL-S for about 2500-3000 BELOW invoice... (bought a 2001 model in december of 2001 )

the list price is always msrp, but that's when you "negotiate" and get hte car below msrp.

the way the luxury coupe market is, i'm sure they'd sell it below msrp even though they tell you otherwise. but that's their job, to get as much for the car as they can.

cool...but since the 6MT cl-s is supposed to be limited, will it still be possible to go below msrp?

is the resale value for limited production cars better or worse than regular mass produced cars? i know the s2k was sold at some crazy prices when it first came out.
tks again :P
