94 Mustang GT 5.0 w/ headers, exhaust etc..
OK, this was my first real race against a true competitor. So I'm on my way home roll up to a light see the Mustang a couple cars back. I get in front of the pack and am just cruisin and all of a sudden I see the lights flying up. So I gun it to show I can keep up.
Come to a light look over gave him the nod and he did the same. This light was still somewhat heavy traffic especially cops. So first run I instead of trying to launch hard, I made sure I had traction before going. Light turns green he pulls out hard gains about car length on me quick but by the time I hit 3rd I caught up and was slowly pulling at 80 until we hit the next light. Had about a car length on him by the light.
Next light everything was clear and I had a awesome launch and hit the light change perfect. Had a car length on him after 3rd and was pulling all the way from 0-85. Had about car and half on him by end.
Next light I roll down my window gave him thumbs up. Then he rolls his down and says "what the hell is that thing?" - I have the car debadged except for A in the back. Then proceeds to ask "that thing has to be turbo'd right?" I tell him all I have is a intake and suspension mods. I asked him what he had and he said headers,exhaust and a few others but I couldn't hear him. I forgot to ask if it was a manual or auto.. I tell him great race and drive along.
SO proud of my baby.... Had to share with everyone. I didn't think I'd be able to beat him.

Oh and I wasn't even using SS, just cruisin in auto.. I just looked up the info. and the 1994 GT only have 215 Hp.... I swear they had more then that. Of course this guy had mods but I thought they had more.
Had you have had headers the outcome would have been different.
