911 then Tiburon

Tonight, leaving the light I noticed two round-shape xenon lights in rearview mirror approaching kind of fast. Then the car changed lane to my left and new shape black 911 convertible flew by, but which one Carrera (325hp) or Carrera S (355hp)? Well, I caught up but was hard to read its dark letters. This 50 y.o. or so guy had fun and thought he's going to leave me way behind. I reached it’s door and heard this Porsche calling all his horses, therefore it was time for me to play along. The testosterone took charge, I got on it and pulled on him about 2 cars . Not sure if he drove tiptronic or manual but seems he knew what he was doing.

Next we passed another light with nobody in front and once he reached my bumper went WOT again. Don’t think he was happy as I pulled 2 cars again and let him smell my carbon monoxide . Never got a chance to talk since we caught up traffic but I doubt he wanted anyway. Also, what was funny is that the second time we ran, he turned the music ON and it was LOUD. Then once we hit the traffic he turned it down and eventually turned left.

And as I was celebrating the victory, Hyundai Tiburon with RICE package, you know a “picnic table” wing with dual “fart cans”, oh yeah the stickers tried to challenge me on I-94 . I enjoyed that entertainment. Let him gain 1 car lead then pulled on him like there is no tomorrow.

Drive safe!

Carrera 4 is AWD = better traction from the line. The RWD Carrera runs high 13s - saw one running 13.9 @102mph. The Carrera S I think runs anywhere from high 12s - low 13s stock and 4S (AWD) - mid/high 12s.

So, sounds like Serge ran against S (RWD) and 2 car length would've been what around .2sec on ET

Oh and another thing - Porsche dealer offers model badge removal as an option . Maybe he had one removed too so it was hard to read? .

Very cool. You have one amazing machine there. Makes me miss my CLS. I was one of the fortunates to have the intercooler but never installed it. Could have been such a beast.

I haven't had the chance to run a Porsche anything in a straight line...but I've shown many my taillights on the road course! My next track day is at the end of August and I can't wait...cuz I just got a set of Hoosier race slicks and Alky-control methanol injection waiting to go on!! That should be good for about 20-30whp/wtq and possibly a 1.2g skidpad in the corners.

Just make sure you'd tune it right. Tuning is the key and very important in two ways - to gain power and keep the motor safe.

And you'll have no problem running next to 911TT or possibly even beating one once you upgrade your driveshaft along with wheelhop kit. Here a nice list of mods for CTS-V including carbon fiber shaft - http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...l?category=157

Good luck on the track!

That exactly what it was - Carrera S
Today, I've met this Porsche guy on the way to work at the gas station .

The black badge says Carrera but he removed the 'S' to play mind games. There is only a visual difference between both models from the rear - tail pipes. He had those quad pipes.

Very nice write up and couldn't help but laugh at your last comment. After all that you wrote, you end it with "Drive safe!" hahahaha
