7500 Mile Check

Well I'm getting pretty close to the 7500 mile check and the maintenance light is on. What can I expect the dealer to check and/or to do to the car besides change the oil and rotate the tires? How much should this maintenance cost? Is there anything I should be cautious about?

By the way, I have a 2001 CL-P manufactured in May 2001. Should they use 5-30 or 5-20 oil? On the last oil change they used 10-30 and I wasn't pleased.

Thanks in advance for your help.

7500 is very minor. Oil, filter, tire rotation. Shouldn't cost more than $60-70. I'd stick with whatever oil the manual recommends which I think is 5-10. The 10-30 is thicker and won't work as well in the winter. But then, I'm in SoCal where the weather is such that oil weight isn't really an issue. :P

My manual says 10 W 30 if it doesn't get below 20 Degrees F otherwise 5 W 30. But that might just be the Type S's.

Due to our very tight piston to cylinder wall clearance I use 5-30 synthetic oil!

If the dealer quotes you more than $70 to do 7,500 mile service...go elsewhere. It's not worth the cost for what you get. Some people on this board have been quoted upwards of $150 on up for service!!! As far as the oil weight; I would rely on what it states in the manual....but I am a So. Cal. too...so it doesn't mean that much to me.
