6Speed Header vs Auto Header question

If I'm recalling properly, wasn't the thing that kept the 6 speeds from being able to use headers a difference in the oilpan? I'm not sure where I'm getting that at - but since I'm swapping in an AT motor to my 6S...I'm leaving the Auto Oilpan and Pump (more oil pressure and I'm not tearing the thing apart to change it)

If it's the pan that was the holdup ...then I should be able to run any header I want?

No, its the rear mount. The 6spd has a kink in the header, whereas the auto does not.

No problem. I may have my XS headers up for sale soon. They arent dented or rusted, they do need a new flex-pipe though.

Dibs on the XS headers if you sell them man. I have been tearing through every web search possible trying to find a set. I found some in Canada for free a while back but they got picked up the same day, lol.

From: The grande.. Riverdale NJ.. Hopefully moving to skyline village in Lincoln park NJ..yes dirty jersey
I was also looking for XS headers for like a year for my 2001 auto..
I found somone that had 2001 accord v6 OBX headers but totaled his car b4 he put them on so he sold them to me for $100 and i could not be happier.
They DO NOT fit 6speed but all the guys with auto why not just go with these. They where a PITA to put on my 9 NJ winters and the screw where part of the cat and the tech put them on backwards so he had to drill out some of the holes bigger to get them to slide on the studs but lemme tell u this car pulls and SOUNDS great.. no resonance what-so-ever and the exshoust sounds nice after the headers.. I said this would be my last mod but...now im thinking hi flow cat and some bigger 3: pipes from the cat to the mufflers to get the headers to sound better...
For those auto's that dont have headers I would go for them you can get some OBX or even megan's for under $300 on E-Bay!

I wouldnt go with 3" piping if you arent boosted. 2.5" is the max I would go on this motor without boost.

LOL, I'll see your double and raise you 10. Just kidding, no worries either way, I may end up waiting and going Comptech at some point. Also, there are those infamous prototype racing headers people talk about every once in a while. If there were enough people to get together, we may be able to get some built. Check out the following link: http://www..net/forums/showthread.php?t=194641&page=12. Also, has anyone looked in to having an exhaust shop copy the XS headers?

I dont know of any exhaust shops that are willing to build a set of headers. If you wanted though, P2R sells the flanges, so if you are good at welding and have the motivation to constantly test fit the rear header you can do it to your specs.

The prototype header is very, very, very nice. I highly doubt they will ever build it though.
