WHOA crap! I was crusing around tonight and tried it!!!!
There is a momentary lag!!!! Good thing too because I could hear and feel the LSD pulsing power to each of the wheels trying to get some grip!
The engine was very warm as i was already driving for about 40mins so it's not because it was cold from sitting on the driveway.

Guess I am a bit confused there, Zapata. If the LSD was working it was because of loss of traction due to too much power per the available traction.

Heh. As allmotor describes as you punch the accelerator, you can hear the engine choke hard and then the power delivery. ONce that power delivery starts, i start to feel the LSD function. I was about 40 degrees outside.

I'll try and get some logs of my car monitoring the ignition timing when I go WOT. Also, try to see where the power starts coming back in, I would guess it to be about 4500 revs.

I'll have to try it again once it stops raining i don't really remember when the power comes back.

The power comes back within a second... the power-band on this car is quite good. Obviously with the VTEC actuated its better, but the 'lag' on really in ANY RPM range... for the instant you floor it!

No... the NSX had nothing of the sort. The only similiar 'feature' it had was the TCS (Traction Control System) which checks to see if one wheel is spinning while the other is not and also if the RPM vs. Vehicle speed vs. Axle speed denotes a slippage condition. Nevertheless, there's a buttom on the dash to TURN IT OFF!!
Plus that car was geared different and is mid-enged RWD. Traction is NOT a problem. 2nd gear ends up at 80mph! I had the 5spd and I hear the CL-S 6spd gearing is more aggressive than the NSX 6spd (or probably the final drive might be different... I am not sure).
I think Honda will come up with a big bang when the new NSX is release... maybe 2005 time-frame. It will either have a 3.5 V-6 making 400hp or a V-8 making 400hp. From all the rumors... it will probably be a 3.5 V-6 using the i-VTEC system AND probably variable cam timing on BOTH intake and exhaust cams. If it does not have an aluminum body, expect pricing in the $60K-$70K range. There are rumors of a race-version with the V-8 that is around $120K or something like that.
Then again, Honda can take a plunge like Mercedes has recently and turbo-charge the beast from the factory!!

Also, the new E55 (pretty small-car mercedes-standards) makes 469hp and 518 ft-lbs of torque enough to propel it to a 12.4 1/4-mile STOCK FROM THE FACTORY WITH WARRANTY!!!!!

Ah yes the NSX layout......that car is perfect Nothing left to be said..... However, I am VERY VERY excited about the possibilities that could be in the new NSX. I would hope that Honda would go the hybrid route and set the standard again but we'll see
