6MT > 5AT
Well I finally got around to doing it. I went and picked up the 6-Speed tonight. Got a great deal from a great guy. Thanks so much Brian (cartan). Such a great opportunity for me and I'm glad the timing worked out for you in the end.
I hadn't driven a clutch since I first got my license and it definitely showed the first time I got in; stalled it coming out of the driveway
Brian was nice enough to drive around with me for nearly an hour helping me out with learning the CL's clutch. I eventually went to an elementary school's parking lot and practiced over and over again starting from a standstill and on an incline. After about a half hour I could do it 10 times in a row without stalling or bogging. A few times I did chirp the tires but I've learned it is going to take a little more seat time to get used to the torque the 6-speed puts to the ground.
Eventually I made my way home; about 10 miles and only stalled once because I got a little nervous when some woman stopped right up on my ass at a traffic light. No biggie.
I'll take better pics on Friday, but here are a few to suffice for now.

The car is already pretty heavily modded and I don't know what else I'll be doing to it. Maybe the theromoblock spacers soon followed by new wheels (it will need tires shortly anyways). I still have my '02 CL-S so I'm going to swap my brakes/lines/calipers on to the new 6MT along with the Comptech B-pipe. I doubt I'll go with the Comptech mufflers on this car, but i'm still undecided. I have the Mugen mods and a few other items left to install as well.
The car already has most all the Comptech equipment, Koni Yellows, short throw shifter, Momo shift knob, and the Infinity Basslink.
I'm thinking about going with a custom license plate on this one just haven't come up with anything I'm 100% set on.
I'm headed to the beach this weekend so i'll get the chance to put a few hundred miles on it and maybe feel the power on this car compared to the old '02 automatic CL-S (which is still for sale, $13,000).
For a while there it looked like I was moving on to an RSX-S but with this purchase it seems like i'll be around for a little while longer

Congrats Steve. You couldn't have made a better choice. It took me a while to get used to the CL clutch and I've driven a manual for years. The CL clutch definitely has a unique release. You'll master that thing in no time at all.
Congrats!
Its a great feeling being able to toss it into the perfect gear at anytime
And yeah - the clutch is a bitch but you get used to it pretty quickly. Its just not the kind of car you can lend to your friends.

Good purchase Steve…You’ll be happy you made the switch.
Does the car have Comptech Headers? If not, get them. They’re definitely a worthwhile investment on the 6-Speed.
There’s more control of the REV’s then the Slushbox CL’s.
Don’t feel bad about stalling the car the first couple of times.
I’ve been driving stick shift cars almost exclusively since 1985 and it took me several days to adjust to this car.
It’s a real touchy system for someone unfamiliar with it.
In the end I feel that it’s the best shifter/clutch combo I’ve ever owned.

glad to see you'll be hanging around and that's a sharp looking car. now that you've got the dual mass flywheel clutch down, try driving one of these with the lightweight flywheel from CT. It's even touchier. congrats!

Oh and I got on it a little in 2nd gear this morning.
Damn this thing pulls, and I'm used to a 300whp car. This one pulls noticably harder than the automatic.
Last night at first I was having trouble going from 2nd -> 3rd; I kept going into 5th instead. But I pretty much figured out what I was doing wrong there.
With all this power getting this car to get up and go on an incline is SO difficult without chirping the tires.

Congrats, nice color and great to get it with all the mods done. I wonder how much an improvement the short shifter is? I'm pretty impressed with the stock shift but I did put on the shorter (and heavier) TSX knob.
I never had trouble getting the right gears. THe shifter seems to go where it should on it's on in most gears, esp 1to2 and 3to4.

Once you get it's fine.
Nice ride man!
Congrats on the purchase. BTW- Who makes the short shift kit for the 6spd and does anyone know if they make a quick shift kit for the Slushbox? Sorry if I hijacked your thread!

I used to have the same shifting problem (2->5) which really comes from guiding ( which I used to have to do on a 4 speed). I found that the best way to do the 2-3 shift is to just go straight up. It used to scare me though as I was worried about going back into 1st... expecially on spirited shifting.

I see what you're saying.....
unfortunately, mine does have nav and I'm pretty sure I can't go back, so now I am cursed with having to find a vehical w/navi for pretty much the rest of my life....
