ok guys, i know that at 6000 it is normal for the maint. light to turn on every time you turn on the car..i went to the dealer today and asked what this was about cuz i wanted to make sure before i did anything..i know that i need a oil change, but he said it needs the 6000 miles maintenace..what the hell is this one? i've never heard of it..ALSO i dunno what the hell happened after i went to the car wash today, but my rear deck is rattling like CRAZY every bump i go over or whatever...i'm taking the car to the dealer on monday to see whats up, but its driving me nutz! any sugestions on what i should do?

6000 mile service is very minor.. but it should be in your owners manual..

as for the car wash..

did they wipe the car inside and out??
I bet it's from them leaning on the deck to wipe the rear window from inside..

Check the brake light housing, make sure it isn't loose.. and check in the trunk to make sure all the wires and such going to the rear deck are in place as well..

 

All's I know, is every dealer I've run into has a different idea of what a xxx mile service is. On my last car, I had three dealers that serviced the car sending update cards, and each one suggested a different set of "services".

IMO -- make sure you look at the manual and make sure that the recommended stuff gets done. (You can also call a few dealers just to see what different shops are doing???)...

 

I just went through both of your problems........The first problem, the maint. req light is on. It turns on at 6000(flashes first-then stays on at 7500), this just means it is time for the 7500 mile service. The rear deck rattle is the plactic ring around the break ligh, or the rear deck cover is loose. Either way, the dealer can fix it no problems.
