6-speed Stone Headers Testing! (Photos Too)
the internal finishing doesn't look so great, but then again i guess they are a little rough since they're prototypes. hope the welds are solid unlike the obx's... lets see how they perform Trending Topics
6-speed Stone Headers Testing!
I need to select a tester 6-speed ASAP.
Here is what I am looking for:
1) A local (Greater Boston)03 CLS 6-speed.
2) He will do the baseline dyno, installation and another 3 dyno runs on the same day AND this weekend.
3) The headers came with no bolts or gaskets. So, the owner will have to procure those at his own cost. The headers to block gaskets can be resued if they are in good condition.
4) I will be at the installation to do document the isntallation and dyno.
5) The owner will pay me only $400 in Cash.
6) The owner will agree to do his own online review.
I will select the best candidate ASAP.

Just curious here...
The "tester" pays $400, plus about $150 for the install, plus $100 for baseline and post-header install dyno.
What happens if they don't fit? Is the "tester" still out his money?
Seems more like a "test-dummy" than a "prototype tester."
Too me it sounds odd that a company is making the consumer pay for R&D.

Nash,, please bolt headers to down pipe and measure distance (offset) between both flanges at both sides of bolt holes,, ie, hole 1 to 5 and hole 4 to 8,, this distance variance will give you a idea how close to "true" with the head. Also how they compare with your standard from COMPTECH. I'm sure you remember how I measured the auto units.
