6 speed CL-S vs S2000

we only raced 1 time from a dead stop

had the fiance in the car and said to her i never raced a S2000 before and wanted to see if i could take it or not, she loves it when i race, especially win, so she said do it

Light turned green both of us got a good start, we are dead even at the end of 1st

i shift into 2nd get horrible wheel hop with a nice chirp of the tires, both of us are still dead even at the end of 2nd

shift into 3rd, it was so smooth, probably because i never left off the gas pedal. Finally at about 6000 rpms i start to pull on him

shift into 4th and i and he is behind me and no going anywhere

i hit about 105 and shift into 6th, he flys directy in front of me and slams on his brakes, i do hit my brakes they aren't working very well and the car the wheel is starting to vibrate badly.

finally get the car to a stop and i give him a big thumbs down for being stupid.

i'm happy since i didn't think i could take him, fiance is smiling and proud

Nice Kill! Too bad that guy had to be an ass. Some people just need to learn you can't win all the time, and quit being bitches when they do lose. It's nice to see your fiance loves it when you race, my exfiance was the same way, a lot of times she would acutally tell me to race when I really wasn't thinking about it.

good race, my brakes shimmy a little at high speeds too......only got 11,000 on the car right now though, so maybe around 20,000 I'll talk to the dealer.

from what it looks like the caliper from the new TL will fit onto out cars with no problems, just not sure if they will fit with stock rims

I think they will fit fine. The reason I say that is because the Rotora BBK kit is the same for the CL-S, TL-S, and 3rd gen 04 TL. That would lead you to believe that the new TL brake system will fit onto a CL-S. But for the money, you might as well go with Rotora in my opinion since the TL brake system uses Brembo calipers and a one piece rotor - not two.

The brakes in our CLS really suck! I have had the rotors resurfaced twice and the brake pads replaced twice including the upgrade they put in the last time on the pads. The rotors get a lot dust and dirt and the pads just don't work effectively at that point. 1st replacement was at 13K and the next at 26K. I am at 44K now and I get a bit of fade at times depending on the weather. I am going for better pads, rotors, and brake lines in a few months..........that's if I don't trade it in for a 2005 S2K!
